Chapter 29

She begins walking around as every place in this store she remember clearly that she walked with Hideaki. She begins to continue to just walk around not knowing what she wanted. She looked around as people begin to look at her. She turns around in circle looking around not knowing what was going on. Images of Hideaki begin to flash in her mind as she drops her basket on the ground. She clench her head as she scream.

Her body gave out as she collapses on the ground knocking the things next to her. She was too tired as she felt a shadow standing over her. She looked up to see who it was…

“Why are you here?” she asked

Hyun Joong bent down as he tried to help her up but she pulled away from his grasp

“I don’t need your help” she yelled

“You’re making a scene. Let me help you” Hyun Joong said as Kaiyo pushed him away

“I told you to leave me alone!” Kaiyo yelled as she heard another pair of feet behind her.

“Kaiyo are you alright?” as Kaiyo turn around to see Keiichiro. She tried to stand up but her feet were too weak to stand up. She was about to fall when Keiichiro caught her in time.

“Let her go” Hyun Joong threatens

“Or else what?” Keiichiro asked

“Or else I’m going to kick your ass” Hyun Joong said as Keiichiro pulled out his badge,

“I dare you to say it again” Keiichiro said as Hyun Joong grab Kaiyo’s wrist as Kaiyo tried to pull away from his grip

“She’s leaving with me. I’m with her” Hyun Joong said as Keiichiro noticed Kaiyo’s painful look as he let her go and gave Hyun Joong a punch in the face causing him to hit the counter.

Kaiyo was stares at Hyun Joong as Keiichiro stood next to her holding onto her as she lean against him.

“Do you want to go with him?” Keiichiro asked as Kaiyo glare at Hyun Joong who was holding his side.

“No and I don’t want him near me” Kaiyo said as Keiichiro looked at Hyun Joong who wipe the blood at the corner of his mouth

“You better leave before I arrest you for sexual harassment” Keiichiro said as Hyun Joong walked pass them as he stops behind them,

“No matter how much you cry or how much you think of him, he’s dead and will never come back” Hyun Joong said disappearing.

“Are you okay?” Keiichiro asked as Kaiyo nodded as she tried to walk when everything around her became blurry. She leans against the shelf when her body gave out as she hit the floor. Keiichiro ran next to her as he carries her out the store taking her to the hospital.

He sat outside as the nurses and doctors walked by; a doctor came out from the room he was waiting in front of,

“How is she doctor?” Keiichiro asked

“How many days she has not eaten?” the doctor asked

“I don’t know” Keiichiro said

“Her body is lacking nutrients and she’s dehydrating” the doctor said writing on the clipboard. “We hook her up with an IV hoping it will help her. She has to stay back for observation before we can let her go” the doctor said as Keiichiro nodded.

“Does she have any family member you can contact to come take care of her?” he asked

Before Keiichiro could answer two figure ran toward him,

“How is she?” Ryo asked as the doctor explained everything he told Keiichiro a while ago.

Suddenly loud screaming and yelling started coming out from the room as the nurses rushes out to the doctor,

“The patient is trying to rip the IV out and doesn’t want treatment. She’s going out of control” the nurse said as the doctor rush in as the other ran in.

Kaiyo screamed as the nurses as she begin to throw things at them,

“GET OUT I DON’T NEED NOBODY TO SAVE ME!” she yelled as they tried to calm down.

Seung Ho and Keiichiro went around her as she kept yelling at the doctors to get out from the room. Then they grab her from behind as they held her down while the doctor took out a needle and gave her a shot. They held onto her till she couldn’t struggle anymore and her eyes closed.

“Clean up the mess and put back the iv in her arm.” The doctor said as the nurses nodded their heads.

“Why is she like this?” Ryo asked

“Has she been through something dramatic lately?” the doctor asked

“Her fiancé died just recently” Seung Ho said

“Her mind and body are in an unstable condition, we have to keep her for a few nights for observation. Its best after she’s release to go see a psychologist” the doctor said leaving.

Ryo and Seung Ho walked over to see Kaiyo sleeping peacefully as Ryo pulled up her blanket.

“Thank you for calling” Ryo said

“Where did you find her?” Seung Ho asked

“In the grocery store, I was there buying food when I noticed her just walking around. So I followed her and noticed she was talking to herself. She then fell and this guy came over and kept demanding her to go with him. She seem to dislike him and he wouldn’t leave her alone so I went over to help her” Keiichiro said

“A guy? Who was it?” Seung Ho asked

“I didn’t ask for his name but he was pale looking” Keiichiro said

“Hyun Joong” Ryo said as Seung Ho look at him. “Thank you we can take it from here” Ryo said as Keiichiro nodded his head.

“If you need anything just call me” he said looking at Kaiyo one last time and left.

“He likes her doesn’t he?” Seung Ho asked

“You can see that?” Ryo asked

“The way he looks at her was the way aniki usually look at her.” Seung Ho said as he walked over to Kaiyo.

“She finally collapse after holding up this long” Ryo said as he sat down next to the bed

“If I known this would happen I wouldn’t encourage her to accept him and him to pursue her” Seung Ho said looking out the window

“It’s not your fault; you didn’t know Hideaki was going to do what he did. No one would have even prevented it. With Hideaki’s personality he will still do it even if they never accepted each other because he will no matter what protect her. It’s true her condition now is bad but if you didn’t encourage them, they wouldn’t have a week of fun and finally learn to accept each other.” Ryo said

“At least they got to be with each other and have happy moments before it all happen. I hope she can hold onto those happy memories and get better” Seung Ho said as he watches her sleep peacefully.

“I hope all of this mess is over so we can finally have so peace” Ryo said.

Kaiyo open her eyes and noticed she was in a different place. She sat up and looked around her surroundings. She wasn’t in the hospital anymore but in her own bedroom. She got off the bed and looked around.

“Why am I here? I’m supposed to be in the hospital…that’s the last place I was I think…or was it the grocery store?” Kaiyo asked herself as she walked around the room.

She opens the curtains as the sunlight welcome itself into the room. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the sun on her.

“How much I miss being just a regular person who doesn’t have much to worry or to think” she said to herself as she heard the door to the room open. She turns around to see who it was, her eyes widen as the person standing at the door just stood there looking at her,

“It can’t be” she whispered as she stared at the figure who was dressed in fully white from head to toe, standing there with a curious look on his face

“Breakfast is done” he said as she ran toward him hugging him tightly. “Whoa, what’s with this hug?” he asked

“Tell me this isn’t a dream and that everything is real” she whispered holding him tightly

“It’s not a dream” he whispered back.

“I miss you so much Hideaki” she said holding her tears as he patted her head

“I do too” Hideaki said as he held her face placing a kiss on her forehead

Riyo drove up to the prison as she got out the car. She walked in as she noticed the same prison guard that was there the first day she walk in here to visit Yuu.

“Why are you here?” he asked

“Visit Yuu-san why?” Riyo asked

“He was let out a few hours ago, I’m surprised you didn’t know nor did he told you” the guard said

“Lately I been having personal stuff to do but you said he was gone for how long?” Riyo asked

“Probably 4-6 hours ago. Man is he going to be rich, now that the government owes him money for locking him up for years” the guard said leaving.

“And yet he didn’t call me…I wonder what is up” Riyo asked herself.

Her cellphone suddenly ran as she looked at the caller id, which was Jin calling her. She put her phone back into her purse and walked back to her car ignoring the phone call.

Jin looked at his cellphone as he dials Riyo’s number but got no replied. There was a knocked on his door as he looks up who it was.

“You got what I wanted?” Jin asked

“He was let out a few hours ago. Nobody seen him since” Keiichiro said as Jin slam his hand on the table,

“Damn that bastard where did he go?” Jin asked himself.

Then there was another knock on the door as Erika walked in,

“What is it?” Jin asked without looking at her,

“Sir Kobayashi is here to see you” Erika said as Jin walked out with her as he greets the captain.

“What is it sir?” Jin asked

“I decided to add another member to the group. He will be senior inspector which means he’s higher ranking than you.” Sir Kobayashi said

Everybody looked around as they had a feeling they know who it was going to be. Jung Min walked in as Jin glares at him.

“I believe you know Jung Min. He will be rejoining the group so treat him like before and Jin, from now on instead of reporting to me, report to Jung Min instead” the captain said leaving.

“Welcome back” Hiro said as the other said the same.

“So this is the game you want to play huh?” Jin asked

“It’s not a game, if your incompetence at your job then I wouldn’t asked to come back. Don’t think you’re from the states that you know everything. I was in this field longer than you so you better watch it” Jung Min said walking off.

Kaiyo held onto Hideaki’s hand tight as they walked downstairs together “Neechan! Gikei! (brother-in-law)” Ryosuke called out as he sat down at the table.

Kaiyo sat down next to Hideaki as they begin to eat,

“Where’s everybody else?” Kaiyo asked

“Ryo-kun will be dropping by later with Aya-san. Also Seung Ho and Aiba said they will be arriving here soon but don’t know when” Ryosuke said eating in a rush. “I’m heading to school now bye!!” Ryosuke said in a rush as he ran out the door.

“Why is he in a rush all sudden?” Kaiyo asked

“Today they release who gets into the university” Hideaki said

“Should we go?” Kaiyo asked as Hideaki nodded his head.

They got up and left to the school entrance where they noticed Ryosuke looking around at the bulletin board with lots of number in it.

“Which number is he?” Kaiyo asked as Hideaki open his phone.

“1029” Hideaki said as they look on the board.

Ryosuke looking at this card and the board, there he spotted his number as he jumped up and down.

“I see it!” Kaiyo said as Ryosuke turn to his right side when he heard Kaiyo’s voice

“Why are you two here?” Ryosuke asked running over to them.

“To see what’s all the excitement about” Hideaki said as he patted Ryosuke on the shoulder, “Congratulations”

“Hey there they are!” another voice yelled from behind as they turn around,

“Ryo, Aya why are you here?” Ryosuke asked

“Wahhh it’s really there” Ryo said

“You sound surprise that I made it…you didn’t believe in me?” Ryosuke asked

“He didn’t at all” Aya said laughing as Ryo cover her mouth,

“I believed in you, don’t listen to her. Beside you did got tutor by me of course” Ryo said proudly as the others roll their eyes

“Let’s go out today to celebrate” Hideaki said, “So where do you want to eat Ryosuke?” he asked

“How about we do a bbq at home? Much easier” Ryosuke said happily

“Fine let’s go home then” Hideaki said as they left the place.

Kaiyo sat down at the chair on the patio as she watches them have fun. She knows this was impossible to be real but she didn’t care. As long he was here with her, she knows she’s safe. More voices appear as she saw Seung Ho and Aiba arriving in the car.

“Congratulations you brat” Seung Ho said giving Ryosuke a nuggie as Ryosuke broke away free.

“I’m too old for that” Ryosuke as Seung Ho ignore him and went to get food.

“You must be proud of him for getting to a university” Aiba said as Kaiyo look at him.

“Time by fast doesn’t it?” Kaiyo asked

“You can say. Treasure every moment you have with your love one is the most important thing” Aiba said as he patted her shoulder and walked off.

Hideaki walked up to her as he held her hand,

“You seem tired you want to rest?” Hideaki asked as Kaiyo shook her head no. “Come with me” Hideaki said as they walked into the house.

“What is it?” Kaiyo asked

“It’s time.” Hideaki said as he holds her in his arms tightly

“Time for what?” Kaiyo asked pretending not to understand.

“Time for you to wake up” Hideaki whispered.

“This isn’t a dream. This is real…real!” Kaiyo yelled as she broke away from Hideaki hold.

“You know very well this is just an illusion.” Hideaki said

“This isn’t an illusion! Stop saying that!” Kaiyo yelled as she ran to the corner covering her ears.

Hideaki walked over as he tries to grab her hand,

“This is just an illusion you build up in your mind, you know every well I’m dead” Hideaki yelled as Kaiyo looked at him as tears fill her eyes.

“No you’re not…you’re alive and well right in front of me. You didn’t die, you didn’t leave me behind, and you didn’t leave us behind. You kept your promise” Kaiyo said as Hideaki held her face.

“No it’s not. I died and I broke my promise” Hideaki said as Kaiyo shook her head but Hideaki held it in his hand. “Look at me, look at me!” Hideaki yelled as Kaiyo tried to look away.

“No matter how much you deny it, I’m dead and that’s the truth. Nothing can change it. I died so you can live” Hideaki said as Kaiyo tears rolled down her eyes onto his hand

“You died so I can live…I killed you. I cause all the mess.” Kaiyo yelled as she got up trying to runaway as Hideaki hug her from behind.

“No you didn’t kill me; you have to understand that I did everything out of love. I know it was wrong of me to push you to fall in love with me, but one thing is I am happy that you did actually open your heart to me. I don’t regret anything at all” Hideaki whispered as Kaiyo continue to cry as he turns her around.

Both hands wipe away her tears as he look into her eyes,

“It’s time for you to wake up, there are so much more things out there for you.” Hideaki said

“I can’t. You’re not there what am I going to do? You’re always there and now you’re not what do you expect me to do?!” Kaiyo yelled as Hideaki held her in his arms

“When the time comes, you will know what to do. Until then just be happy and always remember no matter where I am or what happen, I will always be by your side watching over you” Hideaki whispered as Kaiyo closed her eyes. A few minutes later she opens her eyes and she was in a room that was white.

She was back in the hospital room and he was gone. She was alone in the room and nobody was with her. She got off the bed and walked around. She opens the door and walked slowly out the room into the hallway. She doesn’t know where she wanted to go find where Hideaki was.

“Are you looking for something?” a small voice as Kaiyo turns around.

“Why do you ask?”

“You seem to be looking for something can I help?” the little girl asked

“What day is today?” Kaiyo asked

“Um…the 25^th” the girl said

“I was asleep for a day” Kaiyo mumble

“Hm?”

“I want to find somebody but he’s not here do you know where I can find him?” Kaiyo asked

“Is he sick like you?” she asked

“He told me he’s in faraway place” Kaiyo said

“I would ask my father and he would say the same thing. He usually would take me to the highest place to find her so I can talk to her” the little girl said

“The highest place…” Kaiyo said as she looks up.

“Yep you can talk to them there or find them there” the little girl said as Kaiyo walked off.

Ryosuke, and Seung Ho walked into the room and found it was empty,

“Whose suppose to be watching her?” Ryosuke asked

“Ryo took this shift while I went home to change” Seung Ho said as Ryo walked in

“Who called my name?” Ryo asked

“Neechan is missing!” Ryosuke yelled as they split up to look for her. Ryosuke ran around without looking bumping to a person in front of him.

“Are you okay?” Keiichiro asked as he helped Ryosuke up.

“Neechan is missing.” Ryosuke said trying to keep calm.

“She didn’t go that far with her condition” Keiichiro said as he noticed a little girl standing there playing with her doll. “Hey little girl, have you seen a young lady around here?” Keiichiro asked as the young girl look up and smile,

“She wanted to talk to somebody but that person is in a faraway place. So I told her to go to the a very high place to talk to him” she said

“Where did she go?” Ryosuke asked

“I told you a very high place. You better go find her before you can’t anymore” the girl said.

“What does that mean?!” Ryosuke asked

“High place…the roof!” Keiichiro yelled as they both ran but stop to turn around.

“Where is she?” Ryosuke asked as Keiichiro shivers,

“I don’t want to think about it” he said as they continue to go up to the roof.

Kaiyo stood up there looking at the sky, “Hideaki where are you?” she whispered as she looked around.

She walked toward the edge and stood there screaming for Hideaki to come back but got no reply.

“Why do you have to do this to me? Why do you have to open this wound up and let it bleed?” Kaiyo asked crying as she held onto the pole with one hand as she sat down on the edge.

“Why am I stupid enough to believe you when you told me you would always be there for me and protect me? I shouldn’t have dug a hole and step in it. I was supposed to live a new life away from everything, from you from everything that created me into whom I was…but why, why did I have to come back?” Kaiyo asked as she laughs.

“You left me here by myself to deal with everything. Have you thought of the damage that would come from it? I’m tired you know that. I’m tired of everything and yet you still make me carry this burden. I might as well just join you. Till death do us apart” Kaiyo whispered as she stood up.

The wind blew softly as her hair flew back. The sky begins to darken as droplets of rain begin to drop down. Kaiyo closed her eyes as she slowly move forward when a loud bang behind her cause her to open her eyes.

The team without Keiichiro, Jin and Erika walked into the café as Hong Ki looked at them. They sat down at their usual table as Hong Ki walked over,

“So what brings you guys here?” Hong Ki asked

“To celebrate our old leader returning” Hiro said as Hong Ki congratulated Jung Min. “Riyo isn’t in yet, she took the morning off but she might be coming back soon so until then what do you all want?” Hong Ki asked as he took down their order and left

“I bet you he’s gonna bring you something” Hiro said as Lillian rolled her eyes,

“What jealous?” Lillian asked

“Duh, come on it’s the obvious, he likes you” Hiro said

“Where is Keiichiro? He disappeared right before lunch” Hayami asked looking at the menu

“To visit Kaiyo-san of course” Aya said as they look at her as she looks up. “He told me before he left. She was admitted a day ago and he’s visiting” Aya said

“Sure…or maybe you heard it from somebody else?” Lillian asked as Aya shrug

Riyo walked in noticing the team sitting there talking and laughing.

“Hey” she said walking up to them,

“Should we leave so you two can talk?” Hiro asked as Jung Min smack him

“Something happened today?” Riyo asked as the others nodded,

“We’re here to celebrate our victorious leader coming back” Lillian said

“You’re staying?” Riyo asked

“Yeah somehow it’s better at home then over there” Jung Min said

“Or just that here has something that makes him want to stay” Hiro said as Jung Min kicked his foot “Or not” Hiro said making a face

Hong Ki came back as he place their drinks on the table with piece of cake in front of Lillian,

“Aww thank you” Lillian said as she ate it

“Where is mines’?” Hiro asked

“That was the last piece” Hong Ki said skipping off

“You didn’t order anything?” Riyo asked Jung Min

“You know what I like” Jung Min said as Riyo nodded her head and left

“So…when are you like going to win her back?” Hiro asked

“I’m not going to be the third wheel villain in her relationship. I will wait of her to dump him then come back to me” Jung Min said

“Dude that is going to take forever, Jin isn’t going to let go that easy” Lillian said as she took another bite from her cake as Hiro glared at her. “Don’t be hating since you didn’t get any” Lillian said

As Riyo return with a cup of coffee,

“Just like you like it” Riyo said with a smile as Jung Min thank her. “I will be back there if you guys need anything” she said leaving

“You really need to work on that plans of yours’ to get her back before Jin does” Hiro said as he tapped Lillian shoulder and pointed the other direction as she turn he took her plate of cake and ate it

“Yah!” Lillian said as Hiro shove it all in his mouth and begins choking as Lillian laugh “Never ever steal a piece of cake from a woman”

Seung Ho and Ryo ran around the hospital trying to look for Kaiyo. Seung Ho turns the corner and stop when he almost slams into a young girl.

“I’m sorry” Seung Ho said as the girl look up at him and smile

“Are you okay mister?” the little girl asked

“I’m fine, I’m looking for somebody” Seung Ho said

“Oh you’re looking for her I assume” the little girl said

“You know where she is?” Seung Ho asked

“Yes I do, do you want me to take you there?” she asked

“Sure” Seung Ho said as he grab the little girl hand and felt it cold as ice, “Are you okay?” he asked

“Why do you ask?”

“Your hand is cold as ice” Seung Ho said with a worry look

“It’s been like that for a while now” the little girl said

“What?”

“I closed my eyes and the next thing I know, my body is cold as ice. I tried wearing more clothes but it doesn’t seem to work” the little girl said as Seung Ho slowly pulled back his hand.

“Um…so where was the place you were talking to me about?” Seung Ho asked

“I told her if she wants to find that person she should go to a high place to meet him”

“Are you crazy?! She’s not right in her mind to go anywhere less alone up to the roof!!” Seung Ho yelled as the girl stood there staring at him.

“She wanted to see him. The only way to see him is to go up there. If she wants to go why not just let her go?” the girl asked

“You’re… gah!” Seung Ho yelled as he was about to run off,

“She’s in pain why let her continue to feel that pain? If she wants to end it all why not just let her? It will be much easier on her and the people around her” the girl said as Seung Ho look at her.

“You’re like her, you’re in pain but you chose to hide it and run away, she can’t. No matter how much she tries too, the pain will always haunt her. Why not just let her go easy?” the girl asked

“I don’t know what you are talking about but I’m not running away from anything let alone in pain” Seung Ho said through his teeth.

“You can lie to me, to people around you and even the world, but you can’t lie to yourself” the girl said walking closer to Seung Ho.

“I don’t know how you know but if something happen to Kaiyo, you will be paying for it” Seung Ho said

“Then you better run, or else it will be too late” the girl said as Seung Ho ran toward the elevator. He turns around and noticed the girl was gone.

“Okay…this hospital is totally freaking me out now” Seung Ho said looking around and begins to run for his life.

Kaiyo turn to look at the door behind her open as Keiichiro and Ryosuke ran toward her.

“Neechan what are you doing up there?! Get down!” Ryosuke yelled as Kaiyo look at them.

“I’m tired. I just want to leave why can’t you all just leave me alone?” Kaiyo asked

“There is so much you have left to do, don’t do this” Keiichiro said as Kaiyo shook her head,

“Why does he have to die on me? Why did he leave me alone?” Kaiyo asked

“Then why do you willingly want to leave me alone?” Ryosuke asked. “I lost aniki, I cannot lose you too” Ryosuke said as he cried

“Ryosuke, neechan is tired, too tired I just want it all to end” Kaiyo said

“I know you are tired, I am too, but Hideaki didn’t leave for you to just die like this” Ryosuke yelled as Kaiyo just stood on the edge.

“Please I beg you just come down here. You can’t leave me alone again. You left me alone when I was a child and now you want to take it away again? How can you be so cruel to me?!” Ryosuke yelled as he held back his tears

“I don’t know what to do anymore. When he was alive, I didn’t pay attention to him enough, and when he’s gone, I’m regretting it. He does many things for me but all I did was avoided him and when I realized it, he was gone.” Kaiyo said as Keiichiro moved away slowly as Kaiyo cried.

“I know that, I regret that too. I regret I should have stopped him when I had a feeling something was wrong. I regret letting him protect me saving me over and over and I couldn’t repay him. We both owe him too much and now he’s gone we have to continue to live because he risks everything for us.” Ryosuke said as he tried reaching out to Kaiyo but she just look at him not moving an inch.

Keiichiro got on the edge as he slowly moves toward Kaiyo. He looked at Ryosuke and motions him to continue to talk to Kaiyo.

“Neechan, can you please just come down. You promise we are a family, family work out problems don’t they? They help each other go through hard times and stick together through thick and thin, so please just listen to me and come down” Ryosuke said as he moved closer but Kaiyo didn’t move at all.

Before she can reply Keiichiro grab her down from the edge as they hit the ground.

“Neechan!” Ryosuke yelled as he ran over to Kaiyo and Keiichiro

“Why did you do that?! Why did you save me?!” Kaiyo yelled

Seung Ho and Ryo reached up on the roof as they saw Keiichiro holding onto Kaiyo as her hand clench onto Keiichio’s arm as she cried.

“It hurts, it hurts so much” Kaiyo cried as Keiichiro held her tightly as she cried on his chest.

“I know it hurts but this isn’t the right way to help ease the pain” Keiichiro whispered

“Please make it stop, just make it stop” Kaiyo cried as her grip tighten.

“I wish I can, I really wish I can take your pain away” Keiichiro said as he held her head tightly onto his chest as she cried.

Rain begin to pour down on them as Keiichiro still holding Kaiyo look up along with Seungho, Ryo and Ryosuke.

“It’s like the sky is crying along with her” Ryo said

“It’s because they can feel her pain” Seung Ho said

Once they were back in the room, the doctor came in with the nurse to check on Kaiyo. They walked out as the doctor look at them,

“She is in a fragile state, it’s best if she stays here for observation. We will send for a psychologist to evaluate her condition before releasing her.” The doctor said as they left

“Thank you again for saving her” Ryo said as Keiichiro nodded his head.

“I came by to see how she was doing until I heard she’s missing, it is better if you guys have somebody here to watch her. It might not be so lucky like this time” Keiichiro said leaving

Ryo walked over as he looked at Kaiyo sleeping,

“I never have seen her collapse this badly before. When Toma left, she was only depress for at least a month but now it seems like this scar will never heal that fast” Ryo said

“The difference is that her feelings for Toma aren’t as strong as aniki. She loves aniki but didn’t want to accept it. From my view, she tries to see him as a brother that is why she tries to deny everything for him” Seung Ho said

“And when she finally accept, it turn out opposite of what she wanted” Ryo said

“I blame aniki for half this mess, he built a wall and protected her and now that wall is falling apart and so is she.” Seung Ho said

“Right now is not the right time to play the blame game, all we need now is Kaiyo to get better. If she doesn’t we can never know who killed Hideaki” Ryo said

“Why do you say that?” Seung Ho asked

“Because only her would know who would want to harm him and who he’s trying to protect her from” Ryo said as they look at Kaiyo lying on the bed.

Jung Min walked up to the counter as Riyo turn around,

“Need a refill?” Riyo asked

“Actually I wanted to ask you if you would like some dinner tonight, like a celebration of me returning back to the team” Jung Min said

“Sure where?” Riyo asked

“You remember the same restaurant we always go to on our date before?” Jung Min asked as Riyo nodded her head. “I will be waiting there” Jung Min said

“Sure, what time?”

“Around 8pm” Jung Min said as Riyo nodded her head. “We’re going back to work so I see you tonight then” Jung Min said leaving with the rest of the team.

“Hey Lillian!” Hong Ki said as he ran up to her

“Sup?” Lillian asked

“I just won tickets to go see the movie Titanic” Hong Ki said

“You’re into those movies?” Lillian asked

“Not really but it’s remastered and it’s in 3D, so I want to go watch it and I have an extra ticket do you want to go?” Hong Ki asked

“Sure, what time is it?” Lillian asked

“In 2 more days” Hong Ki said

“Sure I’ll come by here and we can go together” Lillian said as she left

“Yay! Just score a date!” Hong Ki said jumping up and down.

Jin sat at his desk as he lean his head back. Suddenly his cellphone begin ringing. He sat up and grabs his phone and saw on the caller id was an unrecognized number. He picks it up putting it toward his ear,

“Hello?”

“Don’t you miss me already Akanishi?” Yuu said as Jin eyes open wide

“How did you get this number?!” Jin yelled

“I have my ways beside; you’re pretty famous to among female officers.” Yuu said

“What the fuck do you want?!” Jin hissed over the phone

“Now, now just call your ass down; I won’t do anything toward you yet. I want to make sure you suffer first before you do.” Yuu said

“What do you want?” Jin hissed

“Oh I’m just making sure this is your number, so later in the future I can have my fun with it” Yuu said hanging up

“Damn that bastard!” Jin yelled as he kicked his table.

Later that evening, Riyo was dressing up and look at herself in the mirror. She reached over to look at the phone for the time when she noticed about 10 missed calls from Jin but she ignores it. There was voicemail but she deleted it not wanting to spoil the evening mood.

“Been a while I even went to dinner” Riyo said as she put on the last final touch on her make up; she reached down to her jewelry box to look for her bracelet when she noticed it wasn’t in there.

“Where is it…?” Riyo mumble as she remembers when was the last time she wore it. “Damn it, it’s at his place” Riyo said as she grabs her purse and her jacket walking downstairs.

She hauls a taxi over and got on to go to his place. She paid the man and since the restaurant was nearby she might as well walk. She slowly made her way up to Jin’s apartment and opens the door with the key he gave her a while back.

She places her purse on the table and walked around to find the bracelet. She then found it under the table and reach to get it.

“Found it” she whispered as she noticed there were clothes in the hallway. She went to pick it up and noticed that some were female outfits. She slowly approaches Jin’s room and pushed it open halfway.

When she walked in tears begin to whelm in her eyes. She covers her mouth from screaming as she looks at her boyfriend sleeping with another girl that wasn’t her. Her phone slip out from her hand landing on the floor with a thump as Jin begins to stir. She grabs the phone off the floor and ran out the room, grabbing her purse and out the door hoping to get away as fast as she can. Running out the apartment without looking back she continues to run hoping everything was a nightmare.

She believed in him but yet he betrayed her. Images of him in bed with another girl keep on flashing before her eyes as rain begins to poor down. She continues running in the rain and there across the street there was a bus as she got on. The bus driver looked at her as she paid and sat down. The bus drove off as she lean her head on the glass as tears begin to rolled down her cheeks

She thought he was the one for her but now she realized she’s all alone. Everybody left her even the person she always relied on wasn’t near her. He promise to be there for her always but he left without waiting for her. She closed her eyes as she wished all of it was just a dream but when she reopens it, it wasn’t.

Jin opened his eyes as he sat up. Rubbing his head he noticed a girl lying next to him. He remembers drinking a lot, cursing and calling but everything seems a blur to him. The girl next to him continues to sleep peacefully as he got off the bed and put on some clothes. He noticed something strange in his apartment as he walked out from his room. His front door was open. He remembers closing it when he came into the apartment.

Images of him kissing the girl kicking the doors closed and taking clothes off flash in his head. He shook his head trying to erase the images. He went to the front door and there he saw the set of keys. He took it and then he realized who it belongs too. He ran to get his cellphone as he dial Riyo’s number but got only the voicemail.

“Riyo, its Jin. I know what you are thinking but it’s not what you think. Please just give me a call when you can” Jin said as he dials the number again and kept leaving messages for Riyo nonstop.

Rain continues to pour as Riyo got off the bus. She walked up the hill and sat down under the tree as she looked at it. The tree in front of her was planted on the day her, Jin and Yuu met at the orphanage and since then she has always taken good care of it till it grew to what it was today. And the only place she can feel safe.

She leans toward it as she watches the rain continue to fall down.

“You’re the only one that I have left.” She whispered

A shadow appears behind her holding an umbrella approach her covering the rain from falling on her. She looked up as she noticed who it was. She got up and looks at the figure behind her.

“I thought you left already” Riyo said as Yuu looked at her.

“I promise you I will never leave your side what make you think I would go back on my words?” Yuu asked as Riyo smiled as tears rolled down her cheek. “No matter what happens I will always be by your side and I will never leave you” Yuu said as Riyo nodded her head.

He reaches out and pulled her into his arm as he let the umbrella in his hand drop onto the ground as he held Riyo tightly. Rain slowly lightens up as he held her in his arms.

“Welcome back” she whispered

After 5 minutes she let go as he looked at her,

“Is everything okay?” he asked

“Everything is fine don’t worry. How did you know I was going to be here?” Riyo asked as she wiped her face

“After being released I decided to go out to deal with some stuff and you didn’t pick up your cell phone so my guess is that you will be here. You always come here when you feel unhappy or lonely” Yuu said as Riyo begin to walk down the hill as Yuu walked next to her.

“In this whole world, only you know me the best” Riyo said smiling as Yuu smile back.

“Where do you want to go now?” Yuu asked

“I want a quiet place so I probably go back home” Riyo said

“Or do you want to stay at my place?” Yuu asked

“You got a place already?” Riyo asked as they stop in front of a car, “This is your car?” Riyo asked as she looks at it.

“It’s a rental for now since I didn’t have time to buy one yet” Yuu said as he open the door for her to get in. He got in the car and started it and begins to drive. Riyo looked out the window and noticed the rain finally stop.

After 10 minutes of driving they stop at an apartment complex. Yuu drove into the parking garage as he parked the car. They went up to the apartment as Riyo looked around,

“You did this all in one day?” Riyo asked

“One day and a half to be exact” Yuu said, “You’re still soaking wet, you should go change” Yuu said

“Into what?” Riyo asked

“Go down the hallway and there is a room to your left at the end.” Yuu said as Riyo walked off.

She walked into the room and noticed that it was decorated as a girl room. She then remembers the room she was standing in was similar to her dream room when she was young. Light blue bed sheets cover the bed, light purple wallpaper cover the walls. She noticed a wooden wardrobe; she went over and noticed there were different outfits in there. She flips through them and noticed those were the styles she likes to wear.

She walked over to another table where she pulled out different drawers and noticed more outfits and make ups. “He is so detailed” Riyo said as she grab an outfit to change into.

Yuu standing outside the balcony looking at the night as the dark clouds drifted away. He pulled out his cellphone and dials a number.

It ran once, then twice and a voice came over,

“What the fuck do you want?!” Jin yelled

“Aww did I woke you up?” Yuu said with a smirk.

“You again what do you want?” Jin asked

“Just to call to say thank you” Yuu said

“You’re a psycho you know that, they should have never let you out” Jin said through his teeth.

“Don’t police have to go through what you call evidence? New evidence shows up with a new testimony which leads to my innocent. Beside I did have a psychology evaluation before they release me so I’m like you no wait…I’m way better than you in personality” Yuu said laughing as Jin took a deep breath.

“What do you want? You’re already free why call me for” Jin said

“You want to know what happen to Rikka?” Yuu asked as Jin stood up from his table

“Where is she?” Jin asked

“Hm…let me see… I forgot” Yuu said

“TELL ME WHERE SHE IS RIGHT NOW BEFORE I COME AND GET THE INFORMATION MYSELF!” Jin yelled

“Let me tell you one thing, I will never ever tell you where she is because I promise her I will always protect her, and I will keep my promise not like some ass that says one thing and move on to the next” Yuu said

“You have no rights to protect her if you can’t even protect yourself” Jin said

“Well we will see” Yuu said as he hangs up. He opens the phone from the back and took out a chip and threw it down the trash as he walked back in seeing Riyo walking out the room.

“It fits you perfectly” Yuu said

“Did you pick out all the clothes in that room?” Riyo asked

“Some I did and some I ask the saleswoman to pick and don’t worry I didn’t go choosing lingerie that you can do yourself” Yuu said

“If you did that would be totally creepy” Riyo said as Yuu just laugh

“Do you want something to eat? We can order out or something” Yuu said

“Sure anything is fine” Riyo said as Yuu walked off.

Jung Min sat in the restaurant as time went by fast, it was already 9 o’clock and she was nowhere in sight.

Suddenly his phone rang as he open it up thinking it was Riyo,

“Where are you?” Jung Min asked

“I’m walking around why?” Hiro asked

“Why are you calling me then?” Jung Min asked annoyed

“Well Jin called asking me if I seen Riyo and I thought she was with you but with that tone I guess she somehow didn’t show up either” Hiro said

“What do you think?” Jung Min asked

“Nevermind, I see you later” Hiro said hanging up as Jung Min tried calling Riyo’s cellphone but all he got was the voicemail.

Then his phone rang again as he picks it up,

“What do you want now Hiro?” Jung Min asked

“Jung Min? It’s Riyo” she said

“Where are you? You’re an hour late” Jung Min said

“I know, I’m sorry but something came up and I couldn’t make it. Let’s make it another time” Riyo said

“Are you okay?” Jung Min asked

“Yeah I’m fine, just some stuff came up and distracted me. Don’t worry, sorry for not calling either”

“That’s okay are you sure you are fine?” Jung Min asked

“Yes I am. I got to go now, I talk to you later” Riyo said hanging up.

“What is going on with her lately?” Jung Min asked as he orders some food to go and left.

Seung Ho opens the curtain to the room and noticed it stopped raining and the moon was shining brightly. He turns over and saw Kaiyo begin to move. She opens her eyes and look around she saw Seung Ho walking toward her as she glare at him.

“Why did you guys have to save me?” she asked

“Because Hideaki’s death will be in vain. He died to protect you, not to let you just drop dead like that.” Seung Ho said as Kaiyo turn way.

“I know the pain you’re suffering and I feel like. Same thing happen to me though it didn’t end so tragically as yours but losing the one you love is painful” Seung Ho said.

“You want to hear a story?” Seung Ho asked as Kaiyo didn’t move.

+FLASHBACK+

“About 6 years ago, there is a young boy around 15/16 dropout from high school and didn’t know what to do in his life. He would always get in trouble and would pick random fights and one day because he picks up a fight at a bar. The person he picked a fight with is somewhat a gang leader.

He was later cornered and beaten up, and then the gang leader pulled out a gun and threatens to shoot him. The boy didn’t even flinch when the gun was pointed at him. The man laughs and threw the gun down saying how the boy couldn’t even hold a gun even if his life depended on it. When the man turn around and walked away, the boy picked up the gun and with a steady hand, he shot the man who was distance away from him.

The man fall face first into the water, the boy looked at the other members that were with the man. Before he could do anything they ran off. When he caught up with them he noticed all of them were dead. Each and every one of them was dead, and each one of them had a slit throat. That boy stood there watching the blood drip down one by one. He didn’t know why he wasn’t scare nor was he afraid of the killer.

Then he smell something like gasoline around the area, he bent down and touch the ground noticed it was gasoline all over. He noticed a figure standing from distance flicking the top of the lighter back and forth, he couldn’t see the face of the figure as it was dark but the figure actually spoke to him,

“If I were you, I get out of here before you will die a painful death as them”

The boy didn’t believe the figure when lighter suddenly light up and the lighter drop on the ground. The figure walked away without a care as the boy panic. He then decided to jump through the fire since it wasn’t high. When he made it over, he noticed he was alive. He ran after the figure but lost it within seconds. No matter how much he ran around looking for that person, that person seems to vanish into thin air.

The next day on the news they broadcast on the incident that happen in the alley, 6 dead bodies burnt beyond recognition. All the evidence there was burnt away. He sat there thinking of the figure and who he really was. The next few days he would walk by the same street wondering if he would see that person again. He doesn’t know why but he felt that this person can give him the answer to his problems.

“You do know that people will look at you as a suspect for hanging around here too long” the figure said appearing from the dark alley.

“I want to see if you would appear here again”

“Why? You do know I’m a dangerous person” the figure said lighting up a cigarette.

“Who are you really?” the boy asked

“I’m somebody that just gets rid of people that don’t deserve to be here. Ones that do harm to others, the dirt of society.”

“So you’re playing god basically. Killing people for your own pleasure?”

“More like get paid to do it.”

“You’re a killer for hire then”

“You can say that. Is that all you want to ask me cause I feel like there is more you want to” the figure said blowing out a puff of smoke

“I don’t know what to ask nor say right now”

“Then let me say something, you have potential of becoming somebody similar to me”

“You mean a killer”

“Whatever you want to call it. I never had ever killed a person that didn’t deserve to die. That’s my deal. So you got your answer let me ask you something” the figure asked

“What?”

“What do you see yourself in the future?”

“Why do you ask that?”

“Because you’re a dropout and do nothing but get yourself into loads of trouble every night and hang out with the wrong people”

“Why do you care? And I don’t know what I want to do with my life”

“You have potential you know that” the figure said looking at the young boy

“Potential as in?”

“Not afraid of death, looking at a person dying without a flinch and best of all, holding a gun without hesitation and killed somebody from distance” the figure said

“Okay those are not potential, those all indicates I need to go see a psychiatrists or probably a cop or something”

The figure stood there and laughs,

“Just think about it, you got a lot of good potential just that you don’t see it.”

“You’re really out of your mind you know that” the boy said

“I’m not out of my mind just saying, I can use a person like you around”

“Yeah sure as if I really believe a killer” the boy said

“I will give you some time and if you want to take up my offer than come back here in 2 days” the figure said leaving the area.

“I actually got potential or this is…just a game?” the boy asked himself.

And after 2 days, the boy stood at the same spot with an answer, the figure appeared as he stood there looking at him from distance,

“Are you ready?” the figure asked

“How do you know what my answer is?” the boy asked

“I can see from your eyes the answer on the first time we met” the figure said

“Then why did you give me 2 days to answer you when you already know the answer yourself?”

“Just giving you a chance to back out. Once you take this path, there is no return” the figure said

“I don’t have a future nor do I have a past, so I really don’t care if there is a path to return our not” the boy said

“Good to hear that, once I take you in, you have to listen to what I say if you want to keep your life” the figure said

“Where are we going?” the boy asked

“Somewhere to turn you into somebody stronger than before” the figure said walking away

-END OF FLASHBACK-

Seung Ho stops talking when he stood up and walks over to Kaiyo and noticed she was already sleeping

“Is my life story that boring that you went to sleep?” Seung Ho asked as he pulled up the blanket over her.

“I don’t know should I thank him or hate him. He created me into a monster but because of him, I realized what feelings are and met her” Seung Ho said as he stop, “The pain that you have to watch him leave you, I know how it feels. I watched her walk away from me and I couldn’t stop it from happening.” Seung Ho said leaning against the wall looking outside the window watching the rain pour down outside

“Every day I would ask myself why am I living for, why didn’t I just die? I realized that I’m living because of one person…and I regret watching her leave in front of me... every last moment of it”

Chapter 28

“To visit you of course” Seungho Ho said with as a smile

“This late? Are you like a vampire or something?” Kaiyo asked

“Well we rented a car and well he had to stop for restroom breaks a lot so we came here late so are you going to invite us in?” Aiba asked

“No, you might be vampires” Kaiyo said as Seung Ho looked at her

“Fine, fine you two can come in” she said laughing as she let them in.

“So this is where you live, fancy” Aiba said as Kaiyo went to get them something to drink

“Of course its fancy, probably Hideaki brought it for her, we all know he save every money he gets from his job” Seung Ho said looking around.

There he looks at the photos on the mantle and on the coffee table,

“Omg look at Ryo he actually grew taller and a little masculine!” Seung Ho said laughing holding a photo as Aiba joined him.

“He’s a lawyer already?! From what I remember he was still in law school when we left” Aiba laugh as they put the photo down when they heard Kaiyo coming back out with their drinks.

“So why did you guys decided to visit me today?” Kaiyo asked

“Well we got some time off so we decided why not visit our good friend Kaiyo and see what’s up with her” Seung Ho said as Aiba shook his head

“Really?” Kaiyo asked

“Actually he quit his job so he’s unemployed and he thinks he can do better in the city” Aiba said as Seung Ho glared at him. “Hey I’m just telling the truth” Aiba said

“Well you can work at my café if you want for a time being till you settle in” Kaiyo said

“See I already got a job offer” Seung Ho said

“So Kaiyo…how’s Hideaki?” Aiba asked

“That is a very good question, he was here but probably left to do something” Kaiyo said

“For how long?” Seung Ho asked concerned

“You two seem more concern for him than just visiting” Kaiyo said

“Oh, we somehow hit it off last time so we wanted to hang out with him” Seung Ho lied

“Well I don’t know, we went to bed around 12 and I woke up at 3 and he wasn’t next to me so probably he left around that time period” Kaiyo said as she got up to the kitchen

“This is not good, within a 3 hour time period if he doesn’t return, something happen” Seung Ho said worrying

“Now, we shouldn’t jump to conclusion, its Hideaki we are talking about he will be alright I hope” Aiba said

“He wouldn’t be alright if he didn’t send us this letter that is like tell us to take care of her and her family” Seungho said holding the letter as Aiba snatch it from him and put it back in bag.

“We shouldn’t think negative, just positive” Aiba said as Kaiyo came out.

“Well we have no rooms for now, maybe you can sleep on the couch” Kaiyo said

“Sure” both of them said

“I’m going to bed because I have to get up for work tomorrow so goodnight” Kaiyo said leaving the room.

Police arrived at the crime scene as Jin and his teammates arrive.

“Split up and find evidence” Jin said as the others nodded their heads. “So doctor, what is it?”

“There are at least 10 bodies here, probably drug trading gone wrong or something” the coroner said “This one got stab and shot and bled to death” he said looking at the body as Keiichiro bent down and look at something next to the body

“What is it?” Jin asked

“A ring” Keiichiro said bagging it.

“We found a car from distance” Lillian said running with Hiro.

“Who was it?” Keiichiro asked as Lillian handed Keiichiro the tablet in her hand to Keiichiro as his face look shock. “Are you sure it’s his car?”

“Its register to him and we found fingerprints of his’ in the car” Hiro said

“Who was it?” Jin asked

“Takizawa Hideaki, Kaiyo’s fiancé” Keiichiro said

“If the ring is next to this body, it’s most likely his” Jin said “Contact her to come identify the body” Jin said as he walks off not caring who the body was

“That was insensitive of him” Lillian mumbles as Keiichiro stare at the burnt body in front of him. “Keiichiro-san?” she called out as he looked at her

“How am I supposed to tell her that her fiancé is dead?” Keiichiro asked

Kaiyo woke up and noticed the dark sky,

“So gloomy today” she mumbles as she walked downstairs to make breakfast. She noticed Seung Ho and Aiba still sitting watching tv,

“You guys sure are enjoying your vacation” Kaiyo said as they wave to her.

“So…did Hideaki called?” Aiba asked

“He doesn’t call early in the morning, not his habit” Kaiyo said

“Maybe you should give him a call” Seung Ho suggested

“You guys are really odd, are you sure Aiba you’re not falling in love with him?” Kaiyo asked as Seung Ho snickered

“I am not!” Aiba said smacking Seung Ho on the head as Kaiyo laugh walking back into the kitchen.

Ryo walked downstairs as he walked into the kitchen as the other two guys got off the couch,

“Good morning” Ryo said scratching his butt and open the refrigerator getting a bottle of milk. Aiba and Seung Ho snickered around the corner at what they saw.

“Get a cup” Kaiyo said

“Just mark this one mines” Ryo said drinking it from the bottle

“We have guest so go wash up” Kaiyo said cooking eggs

“This early? They must be crazy” Ryo mumbled walking out the kitchen with the bottle of milk drinking from it.

“Old habit never changes do they?” Aiba asked

“He added the scratching his ass part though” Seung Ho pointed out

Ryo split his milk out as he turn around slowly, his eyes open wide as the bottle of milk slip his hand. Seung Ho caught it in time before it hit the ground,

“Dude, be careful” Seung Ho fussed as Ryo cover his mouth and walk backward

“You’re dead this cannot be” Ryo mumble

“So I guess aniki didn’t tell him” Aiba said

“You guys got killed…this cannot be…you’re GHOSTS!!!” Ryo yelled as Seung Ho went over to cover his mouth from screaming

“You think? He looks like he’s seeing ghosts right now” Seung Ho fussed. “Ryo we are not ghost” Seung Ho said. “Just calm down and I will let you go”

Seung Ho slowly let go when Ryo ran away and came back holding a cross and a bottle that had water in it

“Dude, seriously are you like crazy?” Seung Ho asked

“Stay back!” Ryo warn holding the cross

“He lost it” Aiba said as Seung Ho got closer when Ryo threw water at him.

“Be gone!” Ryo yelled as Seung Ho wipe the water off his face,

“WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU THROW AT ME!?” Seung Ho yelled

“Holy water, now GO AWAY!!!” Ryo yelled

“Oh you want to play don’t you” Seung Ho said getting closer to Ryo who kept making the sign of the cross and holding the cross, Seung Ho tackles Ryo to the ground.

“Ahhhhh a ghost is choking me!” Ryo said as Seung Ho tried to strangle him.

“You’re going to kill him” Aiba said pulling Seung Ho off and helped Ryo up.

“We are not ghost and we are not dead” Aiba said as Ryo looked at them.

“If we are ghost, we would be gone now, its daytime” Seung Ho said

“Its gloomy outside the circumstances are different” Ryo said

“We are physical human being, how Seung Ho can tackle you just now and if we were ghost, we would be afraid of that cross” Aiba said

“That’s vampires” Seung Ho said as Kaiyo came out

“Oh you met our guests” Kaiyo said

“Ryo this is Aiba and Seung Ho, I met them on the trip” Kaiyo said as she walked back to the kitchen.

Ryo kept poking Seung Ho and Aiba to make sure they were really real.

“Stop poking me” Seung Ho said poking back as Ryo poke him back and they begin to poke each other until Aiba separated them.

“Okay now that you confirmed we are human being can we move on to serious problems?” Aiba asked

“Oh shit I’m late for a meeting!” Ryo said running away before Seung Ho and Aiba can ask him

Ryosuke walked downstairs as he noticed two strange people in his house,

“You must be Ryosuke-chan” Seung Ho said

“And I don’t know you” Ryosuke said looking at him.

“We’re friends with your fath…I mean Hideaki and Kaiyo” Seung Ho replied.

“Oh nice to meet you then” Ryosuke said walking to the kitchen.

“Are you sure he isn’t aniki’s son?” Seung Ho asked as Ryosuke return,

“Neechan I’m heading to school now” Ryosuke said standing at the door.

“Good luck on your exam!” Kaiyo said opening the door.

“Thanks! Tell aniki to keep his promise” Ryosuke said leaving

“What did he promise him now?” Kaiyo asked as she closed the door. “Breakfast will be ready soon” she said going back to the kitchen.

“Wasn’t that promise on his to do list?” Aiba asked as Seung Ho took a peek at the letter in his pocket.

“Yeah”

“For some reason I have this weird feeling inside of me” Aiba said

“I know what you mean” Seung Ho said as he burp, “Never mind it was just gas” Seung Ho said as Aiba rolled his eyes

Ryo ran downstairs running pass them as he grab his briefcase,

“Yah!” both Aiba and Seung Ho yelled,

“Talk later I’m late” Ryo said running out the door,

“Where did Ryo go?” Kaiyo asked

“He’s late for a meeting” Aiba said

“Oh I see, breakfast is done” Kaiyo said as they sat down to eat.

Chou ran downstairs as she noticed strange people sitting at the table,

“Uh….who are they?” Chou asked

“Friends, where have you been?” Kaiyo asked

“I somehow went to a lot of different bars apparently and got really drunk slept in the car, just got home recently and now heading to work” Chou said pouring herself a cup of coffee.

“You want something to eat?” Kaiyo asked

“Something for a hangover” Chou said as Kaiyo just roll her eyes “Welp, gotta go now nice to meet whoever you are” Chou said walking out

“Hey she’s pretty cute” Seung Ho said

“Is she dating anybody?” Aiba asked as Kaiyo looked at him. “What?”

Aiba looked at Seung Ho who was mouthing something

“Huh?”

“I thought you were gay?” Kaiyo asked

“I told you I’m still in the process of between” Aiba said as Seung Ho tried not to laugh. Aiba threw a piece of bread at him

“Hey stop wasting food!” Seung Ho fussed as he ate the bread

Chou walked into the Kim’s company as she noticed a lot of eyes were on her. She ignores them as she walked toward her desk. Throughout the whole day she continues to do her work, she then took a break and went to the bathroom. She locked the stall as she put down the cover sitting on top.

“Finally a place where no eyes can stare at me like crazy” Chou mumbled

She then heard the door open and a few footsteps,

“Man I cannot believe she even showed up to work today” a woman said

“Why do you say that? What happen when I was on maternity leave?” another woman asked

“You didn’t watch the news? Our boss broke off his engagement to that Sunny girl just a week or two ago” another said

“Well he never liked her in the first place” the other woman said

“Eh how would you know?”

“Cause she’s always hanging around him but he ignores her all the time.”

“True plus her family is involve with some illegal stuff, good riddance our boss dump her in time our else our company will get involve and then we get drag down and later get layoff then we are doomed” the other one said

“That’s all? I thought it was something major” the other one said putting on make up

“We didn’t get to the good part yet, apparently he dumped the fiancé because he was involved with his secretary the new girl that came in. I heard that he got her in so basically he was already seeing her and want to see her more often and to show his fiancé that he got no interest in her so that is why he took her in the company”

“Ohhh that new girl…Chou or something?” the other one asked

“Yeah her, she’s usually quiet cannot believe she and our boss are together”

“But after he dumped his fiancé in public, she stop coming around probably she felt like she will be the talk of the town so she kept away for a while. Who wouldn’t right?”

“But probably thanks so her we got our job if we merge with that other company we were long gone. Beside his fiancé was a totally bitch telling me to do this and that thinking she was my boss”

“Same thing too and make me go get her drinks like she’s already the boss I rather have that other one be our boss. I talked to her a few times and she was pleasant”

“But it looks like they are having an argument or something due to them having an unhappy look lately”

“It will be over soon so who cares, as long as we do our job and that evil bitch is out of our company, I’m happy” the other one said

Suddenly the door to one of the bathroom stalls open as Sunny stood there glaring at them,

“So tell me why are you guys not working?” Sunny asked

“No, why are you here? How the hell did you slip pass security?” one of them asked

“I have my ways” Sunny said as the others ignore her and walked out the bathroom as Sunny chased after them. “Hey I’m talking to you bitches you better get back here” as they turn around,

“We have nothing to say to a woman like you. Still hanging around him when he dumped you, do you have any shame?”

Chou stuck her head out and noticed they were busy arguing so she slips out of the bathroom unnoticed and hided around the corner.

“That is none of your business, beside it was a one way dumped, I didn’t agree to it so I’m still his fiancé”

The others begin to laugh as Sunny walked up to one of them and slap her,

“Don’t provoke me” Sunny said with a smirk

“Hey you can’t do that!” one of them yelled as Sunny was about to slap her to when a hand caught her and pulled her back,

“Some people will never change will they?” Chou asked

“You! Why are you here?!” Sunny yelled

“Because I work here but you know you don’t have anything to do with this company why are you here?” Chou asked

“Because I’m here to see Yesung” as Chou laugh

“Are you like mentally ill or something? He dumped you in national tv the whole world saw it. Beside he doesn’t want to see you nor any family members of yours. Your family is now being prosecuted for being involved in illegal stuff, you lost all your position honey” Chou said with a smirk

Sunny was about to slap Chou when she caught her hand but this time Chou slap across Sunny’s cheek,

“How does that feel when you’re the one getting hit?” Chou asked as Sunny held her cheeks,

“I’m going to tell!” Sunny yelled

“Tell who?” Chou asked

“Yesung who else?!” Sunny screamed

“Even if you told me I wouldn’t give a damn” Yesung said walking up to them. “I made it loud and clear that you are not welcome here nor in my present” Yesung said

“Yesungie…”

“Don’t you ever call me that” Yesung said as he signal two security to come forward, “Please do see Ms. Sunny here out and make sure she don’t ever step her foot into this building nor my present” Yesung said as they grab her and pick her up even though she was kicking and screaming the same time

Yesung turn around as he dismiss the women behind Chou to go back to work,

“That was nice of you to stand up for them” Yesung said

“They did nothing wrong beside that bitch was getting on my nerve so I gotta do something” Chou said

“Or that you want to claim your spot?” Yesung asked as Chou ignore him as she walks off, “So what do you say dinner tonight?” Yesung asked

“That depends if I have a lot of work to do” Chou said smiling as she ran off,

“I say you’re free the whole day then!” Yesung said chasing after her

Aiba’s POV

Tick tock, tick tock the clock next to my ears made that noise.

It has been more than 3 hours and yet Hideaki did not come home nor did he give us a call. I tried my best to think of positive thoughts but nothing is coming to my mind. I tried my best to hide it in front of Kaiyo who was in the kitchen whipping something up for tonight. More like aniki’s favorite food

I sat on the couch flipping the channel nonstop since there is nothing on the television that interests me.

Suddenly Kaiyo’s cellphone rang; I look at it from distance. I’m afraid to pick it up. I pretend I didn’t hear it at all. It continue to ring nonstop, I finally got up and went over to and saw the number that wasn’t aniki’s.

Kaiyo’s cellphone continue to ring as I reached over to pick it up. I stop as I was hoping it was Hideaki’s voice.

“Hello?”

“I’m looking for Kaiyo” a voice said

“She’s not here right now, may I asked who is calling?” I asked

“I’m investigator Keiichiro, I need to speak with her” Keiichiro said

“You can tell me and I can tell her” I said.

“We need her to come down to the station morgue to identify a body” Keiichiro said slowly

There was a pause as I took a deep breath, “Why?” I asked hoping it wasn’t what I think it was.

“A few hours ago, we got a called to a warehouse that was exploded; there were a few bodies in there. One body…one body might be Kaiyo’s fiancé” Keiichiro said.

I closed my eyes as the news slowly sinks in,

“Why do you think it’s him?” I asked as he tries to control his voice from trembling.

“The body is burnt beyond recognition but his car is parked nearby, we also pulled a partial fingerprint which matches the one in the car and we found some items that indicate that it’s him” Keiichiro said, “We need her to come down to identify the body and claim the items…” Keiichiro said

I closed the phone placing it on the table not wanting to hear anything. What I hope never would happen, happen.

Kaiyo walked into the living room where I was standing at,

“Hey I heard my phone a while ago did you pick it up?” Kaiyo asked as I turn around to look at her.

She noticed my eyes were red as there were tears in them. I tried to wipe it away not wanting to let her know what was wrong, but it was too late. Her smile disappeared as she looked concern,

“Is everything okay?” Kaiyo asked

I looked at her not knowing what to say. Can she handle the truth? She finally learns to open her heart and accept him and this have to happen. Seungho walked in holding a sandwich as he took a bite from it.

“So why are you looking so gloomy?” Seungho asked

“That’s what I asked” Kaiyo said.

“An investigator at the police department name Keiichiro called” I said slowly

“And?”

“They want you to go down to the station morgue to identify a body” I said as I noticed Seungho’s face changed pale. I can hear him swallow the piece of sandwich as he stares at me.

“No…it can’t be” he mumbled

“Identify who? Everybody is here” Kaiyo said

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath and let it out as I opens my eyes,

“They want you to come and identify…Hideaki’s body” I said as Kaiyo’s face color change pale like Seungho who drop the plate as it broke into pieces shattering on the floor like our hopes and dreams.

“Hideaki’s dead” I said

I never wanted to say those words, never. The pain it brings when those words come out.

I noticed Kaiyo’s lips parted but no words came out. She stood still staring at me, perhaps praying that I was just making an inconsiderate joke and that Hideaki would be standing outside the door waiting for her to freak out. I wished too that it were all just a prank Hideaki decided to play.

“You guys are playing a joke on me right?” Kaiyo said trying to keep calm.

I didn’t say anything. I knew something was bound to happen when he sent that letter to us. He knew it was coming and yet he still walk toward it.

She realized that I wasn’t going to answer, that’s when she the truth begins to sink into her mind. Her hands cover her mouth from screaming, as she slowly sank to the floor. She soundlessly cried in her hands, her eyes closed tightly with lines of tears flowing out.

I bent down in front of her as I tried to help her up but she pushed me away, standing up looking at both me and Seungho,

“He’s not dead” she repeated as I grab her by her arms making her look at me,

“Hideaki is dead” I said slowly trying to hold back my tears

She pried my grip off her arms as she covered her ears shaking her head violently. “Stop! I don’t want to hear this. Hideaki is not dead. He said he would be back. He promised to protect me and watch out for me no matter what. He told me he loves me, he wouldn’t leave me.” She yelled trying to run away but I held her back as I looked into her eyes,

“His car was parked nearby and his personal items were on him” I said as Kaiyo shook her head

“He’s not dead! He told me he’s coming back…he never lie!” Kaiyo yelled as I pulled her in holding her as she kept repeating over and over that Hideaki was coming back

--- Seungho’s POV---

A few hours later, we arrive at the station morgue as two inspectors I assume was standing there waiting for us.

“I’m sorry” Keiichiro said as I read his name on the badge hanging around his neck. The other one wearing a hat didn’t look that concern nor did he even bother giving any condolences

What an ass.

We walked into the cold room as Keiichiro nodded his head as the man standing next to the dead body open the bag as we stare at a body that was burnt beyond recognition. Kaiyo cover her mouth as she held back her tears.

“These were found on the body” Keiichiro said as I took it.

Inside the plastic clear bag, there was a ring as Kaiyo recognized it. She looked at the ring and the body as she backed away.

“That’s not him” she said.

“Kaiyo…”Aiba said as she grabs onto him,

“That’s not him! That cannot be him! Tell them it’s not him!” she yelled as she grabs onto Aiba-san shaking him screaming over and over.

I couldn’t look at her. She was different from the first time I met her. She was strong-willed, not even a hurricane can break her but now…now the one in front of me, is a fragile, heart-broken woman that couldn’t accept the fact that the one she loved left her.

I watched her collapse in Aiba’s arm as her grip on his shirt still tight. I couldn’t bear to watch it anymore. I turn away as I tried my best to hold it together. My best friend is dead right in front of me.

Murdered but I couldn’t do anything.

And his fiancé is breaking apart and I couldn’t stop it.

All I can think about right now is how I let my best friend died just like that and how can I avenge his death. My thoughts of revenging stop when that ass inspector opens his mouth wanting to question Kaiyo.

“If you’re done with identifying him we would like to ask her some questions” Jin said.

I glared at him but he kept repeating it over.

What the hell is wrong with him? Her fiancé is dead and burnt beyond recognition and yet he wanted to question her still. My fist clench as I walked toward him.

The next thing that happen was me pinning him against the wall as my grip on his neck tighten as he glare at me telling me to let go.

“You don’t get it do you? Her fiancé is dead. Why can’t you leave her alone for now!?” I yelled as Keiichiro tried to pull me off but couldn’t I heard the morgue door open

“Lillian, Aya come help!” Keiichiro said as two more figure appear behind me

“You need to calm down now. We don’t want to cause trouble” Lillian said but I didn’t let go until Aiba called my name.

I looked over at him as he shook his head no.

I glared at those cops around me, and my eyes stop at one person.

She became a cop, a cop. I saw her looking at me with her concern look but I looked away pretending not knowing her.

I look over at Kaiyo as she was still in Aiba’s arm crying. I let the damn inspector go as I kicked the trash can on the side and let out a scream. I left the room as I needed to get away from what was happening.

I kicked the wall and punched it till my knuckles were red. I tried to pull myself together but I couldn’t. I looked through the window of the door and saw Kaiyo standing near the body, her eyes were puffy red. I heard her scream over and over,

“You promise me you will never leave me! You’re a liar you know that?! I hate you!” she screamed painfully as Aiba pull her into his arms hoping she can calm down but no matter how much he does that, the reality is sinking in,

Hideaki is dead and nobody can change it.

I pulled out Kaiyo’s phone from her purse and open it. There on the wallpaper was a happy family. A smiling aniki I rarely saw and now will never see again. I found the number I was looking for and press dial.

It begin to ring once, and twice and a voice came over

“Hello neechan?”

“Ryo?” I asked

“You’re not Kaiyo…?” he asked

“It’s Seung Ho”

“Why are you on Kaiyo’s phone?” Ryo asked

“Where are you?” I asked

“I’m in front of Ryosuke’s school to pick him up. Hideaki left me a text yesterday saying he can’t make it so I have to pick him up” Ryo said

He prepared everything already. He knew he was going to end up like this.

“We need you at the police station” I said as I tried to stay calm

“Why? What’s wrong? Did you get yourself in trouble already?” Ryo asked

“Hideaki’s dead” I whispered

“What?”

“He’s dead and they want to question Kaiyo. We need you here now” I said as I heard a click on the end other. I bent down leaning against the wall wondering why did this happen.

Why now?

About 10 minutes later I heard footsteps running down the hallway as two figure stop in front of me,

I looked up seeing Ryo and Ryosuke standing there. Ryosuke looked pale as Ryo.

“It’s him. Definitely him” I mumbled as they walked into the room that I ran out from.

I watch the door close as I heard that damn inspector harassing Kaiyo again. This time, Ryo raised his voice as the door open. I noticed a figure standing in front of me, but I ignore it.

“I’m sorry” the voice said as I tried to get up as the pair of hand reached out to help me but I pushed it away

“I don’t need pity right now” I said

“I’m not pitying you, I just want to help” Lillian said

“I don’t need it!” I yelled as she looked startled.

“Till today you haven’t changed that temper of yours’ have you?” Lillian said as I ignore her comment as I walked back into the morgue.

“We need to interview her on Hideaki’s death” Jin said as he looked at me as I just glare back at him.

“If you want to interview her, then I will be in the room with her. I will be representing her as her lawyer” Ryo said.

I took a look at Ryo who was holding it all together, though I can feel the pain he was in. He looked at me and nodded. He went over and spoke with Kaiyo who stood there staring at the lifeless burnt body on the table. She nodded as Ryo held on to her. They walked out as I stood there looking at Ryosuke who was standing distance from the body.

I saw the tears in his eyes as he mumbles to himself that this was just a prank. He slowly walked over to the body as he open the bag. Startled, he took a few steps back,

“Aniki isn’t dead, he’s not dead! This isn’t him” he yelled as I went over and held him in my arms. I can feel his legs giving out as he begins crying. “He told me we were a family, and we will always be a family, why did he leave us?!” I fell down on my knees with him as I bite my lips trying to let out my cry.

Ryosuke wipe his tears as he got off the ground and the next thing I know, he ran out from the room as Aiba ran after him. I got off the ground and left the room of death. I wipe my tears with the back of my palm and took a deep breath to calm myself down.

The door to the interview room closed as Aiba and I stood outside waiting for it to be over.

“He knew about it didn’t he?” I asked as Aiba looked at me. “Why else would he send that letter to us asking us to come?”

“It’s not the place to talk about it now. There are cameras everywhere” Aiba said as I tried to be calm but this place irks me. I heard footsteps as I saw her and another cop next to her.

“Do you need to interview us?” I asked sarcastically

“No we just want to interview his fiancé for now” Lillian said as she held out a bottle of water in front of me.

“I don’t need anything especially from cops right now” I said as she opens it.

“Still an ass I see” she said gulping the water down.

“Do you guys know each other?” the girl name Aya asked as I read her id

“No” we both said the same time as I looked away.

“Oh I think I know you” Aiba said as I gave him a look to stay away. “You’re his ex” Aiba said as I smack my hand on my face

“Oh so he told you about me?” Lillian asked as I walked over to Aiba and told him to shush

“He said many things and I don’t know if it’s true or not” Aiba said as I looked at Lillian.

“Ah lovers dispute I see” Aya said as Lillian jab her elbow in her friend’s rib “I mean ex-lover there” Aya said

“Well it’s not my fault it ended this way” I said

“It’s your fault not mines.” She said back

“Hey you’re the one that dumped me” I said raising my tone

“What? I didn’t dump you. You’re the one that wanted to leave all sudden and didn’t wait!” Lillian yelled

“What? I told you beforehand I wanted to leave and I did waited! You never showed up” I yelled

I noticed Aiba and Aya were looking at us as I just turn away. Ryosuke was sitting on the bench. His face was pale like his life was suck out of him.

The door to the interview open as Kaiyo walked out, Aiba caught her in time when her leg almost gave up.

“We need to see Ryosuke” Jin said

“You said you just need to talk to his fiancé why the boy?” I asked glaring at the inspector.

“We need to interview his entire family member” Jin replied

“He’s just a boy! Can’t you just ask him when everything is done?!” I yelled as Ryo stop me from charging at him.

“I will be in there with him” Ryo said as I looked over at Ryosuke who got off the bench.

“I can do it” he whispered as he walked into the room with Ryo.

“I’m going to take her home” Aiba said as he helped Kaiyo out of the area.

I stood there as two pairs of eyes look at me,

“Do you want to ask something?” I asked

“I didn’t know you were close with her and her family” Lillian said

“What’s the point of you knowing that information? Beside you’re on the other side of the law, rather if we keep this relationship strictly professional” I said as she just looks the other way.

In the room I can hear that inspector voice asking questions then I heard him slamming his hand onto the table yelling,

“You’re lying! You know what he’s up to! You better tell me or else sue you for obstruction of the law” Jin yelled.

The next thing that happen, I slam the door open before the others could stop me, I punched the inspector in his face.

“Who the fuck let him in?! Aren’t you two suppose to be watching him?!” he yelled at the two girls behind me.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?! He just lost somebody close to him and your treating him like a criminal worst threatening him like that?!” I yelled

“This is police business none of yours so you better get your ass out before I will make sure you will be behind the bars” Jin yelled.

Before I could take another swing, I felt a grip on my arm as I turn around.

“Don’t cause any more trouble” Lillian said as I just turn back to look at that inspector.

A figure appear at the door as he clear his throat,

“Akanishi, come into my office. As for the rest, Lillian just finish up and let them go home” the man said

“Yes sir” Lillian said as she let go of my arm.

Jin left the office as Ryo told me to leave the room. I stood outside waiting for them to finish up. About 5 minutes later the door open and Ryosuke came out with Ryo.

“If we need anything else we will contact you” Lillian said

“When will we get the body back for the funeral?” Ryo asked

“We just need you to sign some paperwork and we can release the body”

Ryo nodded his head as three of us follow her to a room. Ryo sign so paper and handed me the bag that had Hideaki’s personal stuff.

“I will be right back, I have to go wash up” Ryo said as he left.

Ryosuke sat there quietly as I stare at the ring in the bag.

“They were about to get marry and this happen” I mumble. I felt a tug on my jacket as I look over to Ryosuke who was tugging it

“When can we go?” he whisper

“After Ryo return” I said as I handed him the bag. “Hold this for your sister, I will be right back” I said as he sat there nodding his head

I walked out and went to find the bathroom and I heard voices as I stop at the corner,

“Are you going to be okay?” a voice asked

“That sound familiar” I mumble as I stuck my head out as I saw the cop name Aya hugging Ryo.

“I will” Ryo said.

“If you need anything just tell me” Aya said as Ryo nodded his head. He gave her a kiss on the forehead and left.

“He’s going out with a cop is he crazy?” I mumble

I noticed another figure around the other corner. I went the other way and noticed who it was.

“Eavesdropping on people is rude” I said

“I wasn’t eavesdropping and beside how would you know I was eavesdropping if you didn’t” Lillian said

“I was looking for Ryo and saw it and your excuse?” I asked

“I came out from that room” Lillian said pointing to the janitor closet

“What were you looking for a broom?” I asked sarcastically

“You know if you don’t change that attitude of yours, you will be single for the rest of your life” Lillian said

“Why do you care so much about my life?” I asked

“Because…cause I’m sick of it” Lillian said and before she could say anything another cop came out.

“There you are, I been looking for you” Hiro said

“Look like you move on, I will to bye” I said leaving the perimeter.

----Aiba’s POV----

Once we got home, I helped Kaiyo sit down on the couch. Her hand was cold as ice and her stare was lifeless. I didn’t know what to say or how to comfort her.

I wanted to tell her that everything was going to be alright but is it?

Aniki is dead, dying to protect her and Ryosuke from the devil that was out hunting them.

The door open as I saw three of them enter the house. Ryosuke walked upstairs himself not saying a word as Seung Ho and Ryo sat down.

“Neechan” Ryo said but Kaiyo didn’t look at him nor said anything.

We just sat there as if time just stops, no matter what happen, nothing can alter the reality…

Hideaki is gone.

We were trained to ignore death and that death was nothing. We had to turn our heart cold as ice but it was different with him. He taught us to feel for others, he taught us to take care of one another, he brought us all together and for that I blame him.

Because of him, we had feelings.

And the pain right now is his entire fault.

The door open as Hong Ki walked in with Chou and Riyo,

“We’re home!!” Hong Ki yelled as they walked into the living room.

“I feel negativity in here” Chou said

“Why are there strange people in the house again?” Hong Ki asked

“Is something wrong?” Riyo asked.

“Aniki got killed” Ryo said as Hong Ki dropped the bag he was holding

“What?” Hong Ki voice trembled.

“He’s dead and will never come back” Kaiyo said getting up off the couch. “He’s a liar and will never come back” Kaiyo whispered walking upstairs

“How did this happen?” Riyo asked

“He got murdered and they’re investigating it” Aiba said

“I don’t think she’s able to handle the funeral, you two can do it right?” Ryo asked

“We can.” Aiba said as Seung Ho nodded his head

Kaiyo walked into her room and sat down on her bed. She’s too tired to think. She knows the reason he died. Everything he done was for her.

He died because of protecting her.

She looked at herself in the mirror in front of her. She hated herself for everything. She got off the bed and grabs the lamp next to her bed and threw it at the mirror.

Pieces begin to shatter landing on the floor as she stare at the remaining pieces that was on the mirror. Her heart is like the mirror that can never be put back together. Because of him she has to endure the pain of her heart being ripping out again. She fell on the ground as tears begin to flow out from her eyes. She blames him for reopening the wound that was about to be gone. She blames him for giving her hope and dreams. She blames him for leaving her behind.

Aiba’s POV

Three days pass since the news of Hideaki’s death was brought upon us. Seung Ho and I have been planning Hideaki’s funeral. We both know that he wanted to be cremated since the subject was once discussed.

Three day passed and Kaiyo did not left the room only to go shower and she would retreat back into her room. When we brought food up for her, she would just continue to sit at the window as if Hideaki will one day return to her. Ryosuke did his best to hold it together by going to school but his look was not fit to go anywhere.

I walked up to her room and knocked. I open the door and saw her there in her black dress sitting at the window again. I walked over to her and look at her. Her eyes were red as if she never slept at all.

“It’s time” I whispered as she just looked at me.

I held her hand that was cold and lead her out the room. Soon we arrive at the funeral home where Hideaki’s body was getting ready to be cremated. We stood there as the process begins. Both Kaiyo and Ryosuke stare at the body as they held their tears as the body was being pushed into the furnace. When his body was out of sight, Kaiyo ran out as Seung Ho ran after her.

Everybody around me finally let out their tears, even Ryo. Both Riyo and Chou hugged Hong Ki as they cried. Ryosuke stood there as I saw tears ran down his eyes as he held onto Hideaki’s portrait. For the past few days, we all been crying ourselves to sleep hoping it was a nightmare but it will never come true.

Hideaki’s dead and that’s reality.

Seung Ho’s POV

I ran after Kaiyo looking for her hoping she doesn’t do something stupid. I found her crouching down crying as I walked over to her. I bent down to her level but she didn’t look up. I never saw a person cry three day straight without running out of tears. The pain that he left us with will never heal. I reached over and held her as she continues to cry.
“Why does he do this to me?” she asked as I just patted her head. “I finally learn to accept him and he goes and does this”

I closed my eyes as I felt the pain she is feeling was exactly the same pain I was a few years back. I heard footsteps approaching as I looked up.

Them again.

Why are they even here?

I noticed one person looking at me as I continue to let Kaiyo cry on my chest. Riyo stepped out of the building gasping for air as that ass inspector ran up to her.

I heard him apologizing to her over many times, and then he held her in his arms as she cried. I cannot believe she’s dating that ass.

I helped Kaiyo stand up; her feet almost gave out as I held onto her. I helped her walk inside as Aiba took over to hold her.

“This is a funeral service, if you want to question, wait till tomorrow” Ryo said.

“We just came to give you our condolences” Keiichiro said

I just stare at them as if they were my enemies. I walked outside as I took out from my pocket of cigarette I brought earlier. I took one out and place it in my mouth. I pulled out a lighter and lighted it.

It been a while I even have this in my mouth. I wonder why I even stop. Then out of the corner of my eyes she walked out. I glance over and then I remember why I quit.

“You do know that thing is bad for your health” Lillian said

“What does my health got to do with you?” I asked

“Your health got nothing to do with me, but the people’s health around you is more important. Secondhand smoke kills” Lillian said as I gave her a look. I put out the cigarette and threw it in the trash as I walked away.

“Why are we like this?” she asked

I stop and turn around as she looked at me,

“I waited for you but you didn’t even bother to come. I waited for your phone call, I waited for you every day at the train station hoping you would change your mind but you didn’t. I then realized what the use of waiting when you didn’t bother to contact me anymore.” I said.

“You really expect me to leave everything behind to follow you? I was still in college, I don’t have a career, I don’t have anything and you really expect me to drop everything and go with you?” Lillian asked

“You could have called!” I yelled

“Called? What’s the use of calling? To tell you the same thing I told you before that I won’t leave?” she yelled

We stop the conversation when the others came out,

“Seung Ho, we’re leaving” Aiba called out as I just look at her and turn away.

Instead of her walking away this time, it’s me. After the pain I went through years ago and what is happening to Kaiyo, its best if I don’t reopen the wound again. I got into the passenger side and close the door. Ryo started the car and drove off as I watch her stand at the same spot from the rear mirror on the side till we turn the corner.

I have to put all feelings aside because now the most important thing is finding what really happen to Hideaki. His death was to protect Kaiyo and Ryosuke but from whom?

When we got home, Kaiyo went to her room as she lay on the bed. Aiba tucked her in as she finally closed her eyes to sleep. I turn around and saw the shattered mirror on the ground. Lucky she didn’t do something stupid or else Hideaki will never forgive us.

I begin to gather the broken pieces on the ground with a towel. After I was done, I stood up and noticed Kaiyo finally sleeping after three days straight without even closing her eyes. I hope she can go back to normal and live a life Hideaki wanted her too.

A prison guard stop in front of a cell,

“Do you want to make any phone calls Shirota?” he asked as Shirota looked up at him,

“Who do I need to call?” Yuu asked

“You’re not going to call the girl that always visit you to pick you up tomorrow?” he asked

Shirota lean back against the wall,

“I want to surprise her” he said as the prison guard shrug and walked away.

“Tomorrow I’m finally going to be free, free from this cell. I can finally hold her in my arms once again.” He whispered as he looked at the wall where a newspaper clip of Jin hanging on the wall,

“I will make sure she will see who you really are and make you pay for what you done to us” Yuu said.

Riyo sat in the car as Jin drove around,

“Do you want to go somewhere?” he asked as Riyo looked at him,

“Not really. Just too tired to think” Riyo said as she closed her eyes.

Jin stopped the car as he parked on the side while Riyo was sleeping he got out the car and looked at his phone.

He dialed a number but got no replied. He dialed again and a voice came over the phone,

“Yes?”

“This is inspector Akanishi Jin, I want to confirm something” Jin said

“What is it, inspector?”

“Is it confirmed Shirota Yuu is coming out from prison tomorrow?” Jin asked

Riyo open her eyes as she heard the name,

“He’s coming out? What?” Riyo asked herself

“Yes inspector, all the paperwork are in and everything was clear so he will be released tomorrow” the voice said

Jin hangs up before the voice could say anything. He turns around and kicked the car as he let out a scream. A few minutes later he got into the car as Riyo looked at him,

“Something wrong?” she asked

“Nothing” Jin said

“I heard you screaming and punching the car, something bound to have happen” Riyo said

“A certain somebody is going to be free because new evidence showed up. He’s a murder and yet he still get to go free!” Jin yelled

“Why didn’t he tell me about that” Riyo asked herself as Jin started the car and speed off.

She held onto the seat belt as he speed around places. He steps on the gas pedal hard as they lunge forward.

“I don’t get why are you so angry about this?” Riyo asked as Jin looked at her

“He’s a murdered and he is going to kill again” Jin said through his teeth

“I know that but why?” Riyo asked

“You don’t need to know. It got nothing to do with you!” Jin yelled startling Riyo as she unbuckle the belt,

“If you’re this suicidal then I’m leaving” Riyo said leaving the car as she ran off.

“Riyo!” Jin yelled as he ran after her but when he turn the corner she was gone. “Damn it” he mumbled

Riyo ran until she collapse on the ground,

“I shouldn’t let him back in, why did I even forgive him” Riyo asked herself.

The next morning Seung Ho walked up to Kaiyo’s room. He knocked a few times but got no reply,

“Kaiyo, I’m coming in” he said as he opens the door.

He walked into the room and noticed body was on the bed, he ran to the bathroom and the other rooms in the house but no sign of her. He ran downstairs bumping into Aiba who was holding a plate of food,

“What is wrong with you running up and down like that?!” Aiba asked

“She’s not in her room” Seung Ho said gasping for air.

“What?”

“She’s not in the house, I search everywhere but she’s not home” Seung Ho said as Aiba put the plate down and grab his cell phone dialing.

“She’s not picking up her phone either” Aiba said

“She left without us knowing? How is that possible?!” Seung Ho asked as he grabs his jacket

“She’s a ‘you know what’ of course nobody can hear her” Aiba said running out the door with Seung Ho behind him.

Kaiyo walked into the grocery store not knowing why she walked in there. All she knows is that she needed to get out from the house. She begins to walk around the store aimlessly looking for something.

She stops by the seafood section and look at the crabs.

“He loves to eat crabs. The way his face lit up when he saw that I was cooking it.” She said as she reached down to get a couple and put it in the bag and place it in the basket. She continues to walk around putting things in the cart not knowing why she is buying them. She stopped when she heard laughter behind her. She turns around seeing a couple playing on the cart.

The girl standing on the cart in front of the boy as he pushes her around places. Images of Hideaki and her playing that a few days ago flashed in her mind as she tries to shake it out from her head.

She begins walking around as every place in this store she remember clearly that she walked with Hideaki. She begins to continue to just walk around not knowing what she wanted. She looked around as people begin to look at her. She turns around in circle looking around not knowing what was going on. Images of Hideaki begin to flash in her mind as she drops her basket on the ground. She clench her head as she scream.

Her body gave out as she collapses on the ground knocking the things next to her. She was too tired as she felt a shadow standing over her. She looked up to see who it was…

The sun shine brightly outside as birds continue to chirp. The sound of the gate slide open as a figure walked out from the dark place.

“Good luck in life Shirota, hope not to see you again” a guard said as Yuu continues to walk forward without turning back.

“I’m back and you’re going down Akanishi Jin” Yuu said with a smile. “I will make sure you are gone from our lives and I will make sure whoever stands in my way dies” he mumbled
