Chapter 16

“I will answer all your questions so please, be patience. This press meeting is about my engagement with Sunny. And that is, I hereby state the engagement between the Kim and the Lee, me and Sunny is off.”

Gasps and whispering begins to fill the room as flashes still went off. Chou eyes widen as she begins to back away.

“Mr. Kim, why are you deciding to call off the engagement? You and Sunny have been engage for more than 5 years, why now?” one of the reporters asked as Yesung smile

“This marriage first off was force upon me; my parent’s was the one that wanted this engagement not me. Because of my parent’s request I stayed in this relationship, but I wasn’t happy. Not until I met this one person. That person showed me that life has another meaning and that I shouldn’t stay in this relationship because of my parent’s happiness.” Yesung replied as Chou continues to back into the crowds.

“Is this person a female?”

“Maybe, maybe not” Yesung said as he look toward where Chou was as their eyes met. Her expression was still shock as cover her mouth from letting out any sound. Yesung stood up as he press his hands onto the table and continue to talk toward the reporters.

“Do you know how will Miss. Sunny take this news?”

“I don’t know but after this press conference is everything will be over, its truly over between us. Her father’s company and my family’s company will not merge at all.”

“Is it true that her father’s family is doing illegal things?”

“I don’t have anything to say about it, if they are doing illegal things, police will investigate.”

“Who is this mysterious person that you mention?” one of the reporters asked as Yesung’s eyes look toward Chou. One of the reporters look at where Yesung’s eyes was focus at and turn toward her,

“Are you the person he’s talking about?” reporter asked as Chou shook her head.

“I’m just his employee nothing else” Chou yelled as she push through the crowd hoping to get away from the reporter as he begins to follow her while the other reporters still focus on

“What will happen to the companies’ stock market and business?” one reporter asked

“I will not talk about anything until everything is fully settle” Yesung said as he move away from the table as he went into the crowd hoping to find Chou.

“Mr. Kim!” reporters yelled but Yesung looked around in the crowd hoping to look for Chou.

“The meeting is over, please proceed to the exit” an announcer in the back said but the reporters continue to surround Yesung as flashes went off from cameras as he continues to get through the crowds.

Chou ran out from the room as her heart was still beating rapidly as she tries to gasps for air. She pulled out her phone as her fingers tries to dial the number but couldn’t get the fingers to push the numbers. Footsteps from the reporter that was chasing her was catching up she ran underneath the stairs to take hiding. The reporter ran pass her, she got out from hiding and went back out to the main lobby.

Her feet still trembling as she heard the reporters swarming out from the conference room as she ran toward the elevator pushing the button for it to open. As the door to the elevator open, a voice called her name but she ignore it and rapidly push the button to close the rapidly. As Yesung ran toward the door, it close shut in his face.

“Damn it” he yelled

Kaiyo, Hong Ki and Hideaki sat in the backseat of the taxi in silence. Hong Ki looked at Kaiyo and then Hideaki and then back at Kaiyo. The image of what happen at the train station still runs in his head,

“OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!” a voice from distance yelled as Kaiyo’s eyes open as Hideaki’s and they turn to find a young blonde guy staring at them with his mouth open wide pointing at them.

He shook it hoping to get rid of the images as his eyes still wide open. .

“Both are still wearing the same outfit they left a few days ago…did they went on a secret affair trip? No wait…did they secretly get married like Las Vegas style?!” Hong Ki wonders in his head as he flashes Kaiyo a smile who gave him a weird look. The driver then turn the volume on the radio loud as they heard the news anchor talk about the short press meeting Yesung called a few minutes ago.

“Today the heir to the Kim’s industry, Mr. Kim Yesung has called off his engagement with Ms. Lee Sunny. It is still unknown the real truth behind it but is believed that there is another person involving in his decision. This engagement was brought upon by his parent’s and they forced him to marry Sunny. Mr. Yesung seems confident nothing will change upon the market and the business…”

The driver then lowers the volume as the three in the backseat look at each other,
“Yesung…isn’t he the one that Chou is after?” Hideaki asked.

“I cannot believe out of many deadbeat men in this world, she likes him!” Hong Ki yelled.

“I wonder if the third person they are referring to is…actually Chou.” Kaiyo said.

Chou ran toward her desk as she grabs her purse and ran the other direction hoping not to run into Yesung. She then decided to take the stairs as she ran down the steps; she dialed a phone number hoping that person would pick up.

Kaiyo dig into her jacket pocket as her cell vibrated. She picks up the call,

“Hello?”

“Neechan, I need your help” Chou whispered as her voice still trembling.

Riyo lift her head off the table as she looks around. She fell asleep for a while on the computer table. She looked at the time and opens her room door. She went downstairs to notice it was empty. She ran back upstairs and changes into a different outfit and grabs her purse along with the address Ryo gave her. She then ran downstairs, into the garage and into the car.

“I should get something first” she mumble as she back the car out of the garage driveway

Chou’s hand still trembling as she clench onto the cellphone tightly, “I want to get out of here neechan, please help me”

“Where are you?” Kaiyo asked.

“I’m still in the Kim’s building. Ryo isn’t picking up and the place is surrounded by reporters, I’m scared” she said.

“Okay, okay. Hideaki will come over there with Hong Ki to pick you up. I have to deal with Riyo and I will talk to you later tonight” Kaiyo said.

“Please hurry...I don’t want him to find me” Chou whispered.

“I will tell them” Kaiyo said as she hangs up. “Well look like you two have a mission to fulfill” Kaiyo said as the taxi drop her at the destination.

Both her and Hideaki got out holding onto Kaiyo’s hand,

“See you tonight then” Hideaki said as he told the driver their next destination. His hand slowly let her hand go,

“Well their goodbye seems lingering…and look at their eyes…they have a secret…”

Hong Ki said in his mind, “they definitely got married in Las Vegas!!” Hong Ki yelled out loud as Hideaki looked at him weirdly. “That was suppose to be in my head” he mumble as he sulk into the back seat

Kaiyo looked around the area as she noticed another family placing a love one down to rest. She stuck her hand into her jacket as she made her way up the steps. She stops as she noticed Riyo placing a bouquet in front of a gravestone.

“Hey Mike, it’s me, Riyo. I’m sorry I never visit you in a while…more like I just found out you’re dead…” Riyo whispered.

“He died protecting you.” Kaiyo said as Riyo turn to find Kaiyo standing distance away.

“What do you mean?”

“Did you know what his occupation was?” Kaiyo asked approaching Riyo.

“I never really asked him…I just assumed he was like a private investigator or something…why?” Riyo asked.

“That’s Mike. Even till death he lies about his occupation.” Kaiyo said as she stood in front of the gravestone. “His real occupation was a bodyguard. You know how protective Hideaki is toward me. Mike started off as my bodyguard but later he became your bodyguard”

Riyo looked at Kaiyo as she turns to look at Mike’s grave.

“Why?”

“All I know is that you were in danger and I told Mike to focus protecting you instead of me since Hideaki is always around.” Kaiyo replied

“So you’re saying…getting close to me was his job? And that he never actually loved me?” Riyo asked all confused

“He was supposed to not fall in love since this was his job on the line but he still went and did it anyways. One thing leads to another and you two were and lovely dovey item and well he got a scolding from Hideaki everyday but he ignore him and went his own ways.” Kaiyo said with a soft chuckle.

“We had some great time together” Riyo said.

“No doubt he loves you dearly and you’re his #1 priority that’s why he would give up his own life to save yours’” Kaiyo said as she look at Riyo.

“I understand that. Can you tell me what really happen to him?” Riyo asked.

“That’s what we’re trying to find out. From what I remember 4 years ago, the criminal came out and admitted he killed Mike because Mike just randomly happen to be at that warehouse the wrong time.”

“What do you mean?”

“Mike probably saw something that he shouldn’t have that is why he died but Hideaki, Ryo and me suspect that wasn’t really the truth because Mike himself is a good shooter. Whoever killed him, is a person who either he knows or is involve in one of the cases Mike was dealing with or probably dealing with you. We don’t have the answer yet” Kaiyo replied.

“So you’re saying that whoever killed Mike is still out there and I’m the next target?” Riyo asked.

“Most likely, so from now on, you have to stop doing those missions and stay in our sight for protection.” Kaiyo said as Riyo looked back at the grave.

“I’ll do whatever you guys say, but for now can I just stay here with Mike a little longer?” Riyo asked as Kaiyo nodded her head.

“Sure, just hurry back home. I now have to go deal with Chou and her boy issue now.” Kaiyo said looking at her watch. “Take care.”

Kaiyo walk off slowly as she turn back to see Riyo sitting in front of Mike’s grave staring at it as she tries to hold back the tears in her eyes.

“There is some stuff you shouldn’t know too much about” Kaiyo whispered as she head down the steps.

Hideaki and Hong Ki walk into the building as reporters was still hanging around in the lobby.

“Where can she be?” Hong Ki asked as when suddenly a hand slam hard on his shoulder causing him to yelp as Chou cover his mouth.

“Why did you bring him for?” Chou asked as Hideaki shrug.

“My god, don’t you ever, ever do that again! If my heart was weaker I probably have a heart attack!” Hong Ki hissed as Chou shrug.

“Can we get going now? I don’t want to get involve in any of this mess” Chou said as she walks fast toward the door.

Once they were out Chou let out a loud scream as both Hideaki and Hong Ki gave her a weird look.

“You seem really relieve so what happen?” Hong Ki asked as Chou begin to walk away when all sudden a car speed up in front of her causing her to run back to where Hideaki and Hong Ki was standing at.

“I been looking for you everywhere” Yesung said as he got out of the car

“Is he the one bothering you?” Hideaki asked as he stood face to face with Yesung.

“I need to talk to Chou” Yesung said

“She doesn’t want to talk to you so get out of the way” Hong Ki said in an angry tone.

“I also need to talk with you too” Yesung said.

“I have nothing to say to you. Didn’t I make myself clear that I don’t want any of your family pity nor do I want to see anybody from the family” Hong Ki said as both Chou and Hideaki look at him

“Chou, I really need to talk with you.” Yesung said in a gentle tone.

“If you have something to say to her, you can say it to me so I can tell her. When I’m here, I don’t allow any men to get near her” Hideaki warn Yesung as he took a glance at Chou.

“I let you two make a choice, either Hong Ki comes with me or I get to speak to Chou in private, so who will it be?” Yesung said as two bodyguards appear from behind.

“Aniki, can you take Chou back home? Kaiyo chan must be waiting for her.” Hong Ki said as Hideaki nodded his head.

“Take care, if you need anything just gives us a call” Hideaki said.

“Thank you Hong Ki” Chou said as Hideaki open the door to the taxi waiting nearby. As they got in Hong Ki wave at them until they were out of sight.

“What do you want?” Hong Ki asked glaring at Yesung.

“If you want to know, get in the car” Yesung said as Hong Ki ignores him

“How would I know you’re not trying to kidnap me and then kill me?” Hong Ki asked.

“Fine, in scouts honor, I won’t touch you nor will I even sit next to you” Yesung said as hops into the car as they drove off.
As the car pulled to a stop in front of the mansion, reporters begin to pop out of nowhere taking pictures as they bang on the window hard trying to get Yesung’s attention.

“Do not tell me you drag me here to pull more attention” Hong Ki asked.

“You will see” Yesung said as he command the driver to ignore the reporters and continue to drive into the house.

As they got out, Hong Ki looked around as a maid ran toward them,

“Yesung, you’re parent’s are looking for you and they aren’t too happy, also Miss. Sunny is here too”

“Okay, you can go in now” Yesung said as Hong Ki looks at him weirdly. “Shall we?”

As they walk into the house, Hong Ki noticed his so called father and stepmother sitting on the couch yelling and screaming while another girl sitting on the opposite couch was crying. “That must be Sunny” Hong Ki whispers to himself as he walked up behind Yesung.

“What the hell is wrong with you?! Why did you break off the engagement in front of millions of people?!” Mrs. Kim yelled as she slaps Yesung as he wipe the blood from his lips

“Did we tell you that you are forbidden to even mention breaking off the engagement!?” Mr. Kim yelled.

“Mr. and Mrs. Kim please tell him to take it back!” Sunny whined as Yesung just stood there rolling his eyes as the two parents’ went over to stop her crying.

“I have enough of this crap. Mr. Ito, escort Miss Sunny back home. If she dare come back here once again, call the police, from now on if anybody see her she’s an intruder.” Yesung said coldly as a middle age man pull Sunny off the chair and with two other body guards they drag her out.

“How dare you do that to your fiancée?!” Mrs. Kim yelled.

“Didn’t you hear the news; she’s not my fiancée anymore.” Yesung said as he sat down on the couch.

“Why is this bastard here?!? Mrs. Kim asked.

“Because I ask him to be here, he has every right to be here as I am and he has a name not bastard” Yesung said. “Hong Ki sit, this is your house too you know” Yesung said as he signal two of the bodyguards over.

“That’s okayyyyyyyyy” before Hong Ki could finish his sentence; the two bodyguards picked him up in the air and place him on the couch. “What the hell was that?” Hong Ki yelled.

“Kim Yesung, I command you to go over to the Lee’s and apologize to them and marry Sunny!” Mrs. Kim yelled.

“I have been a filial son to the both of you, always listening to your every command, and sticking to this stupid engagement, but guess what? It’s all over.” Yesung said as he slowly stood up facing both his parent’s.

“Why is it because of your affair with your secretary?” Mr. Kim asked as Yesung look at his father. “Don’t think we don’t know your every move. I have my ways of finding information. You and that secretary have been spending quite a lot of time together”

“One it’s not an affair. Both I and she are still single and it got nothing to do with her, well maybe since she helped me realized what I’m doing isn’t what I wanted and that she loves me for who I am not for my company or my money” Yesung said in a cold tone.

A cold chill was sent down Hong Ki’s spine as he looks at his so called older brother’s face. That look was different from any others he has seen before. That cold stare, that evil smirk he had on his face…he slowly stood up with his crunches but was met with a slap by Mrs. Kim

“What the hell was that for?” Hong Ki asked staring at the woman in front of him.

“You…because of your appearance everything changes. You’re a bastard since a child and now still remains a bast…”before she could finish a slap was smack across her right cheek” she looks at the person who dare slap her. “How dare you slap your mother!” she yelled

“You’re not my mother” Yesung said through his teeth as he glares at the woman in front of him.

“Wh…what? I am your mother how dare you say that” she said as she look at Yesung

“Keep denying all you want but let me tell you, you’re not my birth mother. You’re just a bitter bitch that like to tear families apart. You cause my mother to die in misery…”

The woman in front of him was speechless as she begins to back away.

“My birth mother is Lee Harumi” Yesung said looking at the speechless woman in front of him.

“What?” Hong Ki asked looking at Yesung with an unbelievable look on his face.

“That’s right, my mother is Lee Harumi, we're not half brothers but brothers” Yesung replied
