    Chapter 13

Jungmin kept staring at Riyo as Jin looked at them.

    “Are you okay?” Jin asked.

“Uh yeah I am.” Riyo said as she moved next to Jin.

“Oh let me introduce you, this is Park Jungmin who used to work in the police department in Tokyo. He’s now on vacation. And Jungmin, this is my girlfriend Riyo” Jin introduced as Riyo shook Jungmin’s hand who held onto it tightly.

Then Jin’s cellphone rang as he walked off to answer it.

Riyo and Jungmin stare into each others’ eyes as his grip on her hand is still tight.

    “Riyo…”

“I think you got the wrong person…” Riyo said as she tries to pull her hand back.

“The wrong person? You look like her and have the same name. I doubt in this world there is something this buzzard.”

“I say I don’t know you okay!? I don’t remember anything!” Riyo yelled as she pulled her hand from his grip.

    “You don’t remember anything?”

“No I don’t when I woke up that day I do not remember anything” Riyo said as she stare at him. Soon Jin returns and felt something is wrong,

    “Is everything okay?”

“Yeah everything is fine, he just mistaken me for somebody that’s all” Riyo said with a fake smile.

“Yeah it was just a mistake that’s all. Anyways I have to go now. Bye” Jungmin said walking off.

Jin look at Jungmin’s back and back at Riyo who was sitting down at the table.

“Hey how about I take you to eat something sweet?” Jin asked as Riyo nodded yes.

Jin then paid for the drinks and left holding onto Riyo’s hand. As they got into the car and drove by, Jungmin sitting in the car and watches they drive off.

“I know it’s you and I’m going to find out what happen these two years” he whispered.

Kaiyo open her eyes and noticed she wasn’t in the car anymore. She slowly sat up and looked around.

“Where the hell am I now?” she mumbled as she got up slowly but is still weak from the lost of blood.

She then fell against the chair and noticed a phone. She picks it up but was too weak to dial. Then the door open up as she noticed who came in,

    “You’re awake.”

    “Where am I?” Kaiyo asked.

“In a motel, we cannot go home and risk people seeing you like this” Hyun Joong said.

“You could have taken me to Hideaki’s place, his place is always safer than a motel” Kaiyo replied coldly as Hyun Joong place a brown bag in front of her.

“I made soup. So eat up.” Hyun Joong said taking out the bowl in the bag.

    “You know how to cook?”

“Yeah, if I didn’t I would starve to death, beside Ryo, Hong Ki and Chou seem to like the food I cook today” Hyun Joong said with a smile.

“Did they suspect anything?” Kaiyo asked eating the soup.

“Well I did get question by Ryo and Chou…and that Ryo dude thinks we are sleeping together still” Hyun Joong said as Kaiyo choke.

“I swear that boy has a perverted mind all the time”

“Other than that nobody suspects a thing” Hyun Joong said as he took out a pack of bandage.

“I have to get going by tomorrow morning. How far is this place from the church?” Kaiyo asked.

“Don’t know…but you cannot leave, your wound can rip open anytime you need to rest”

“I cannot rest; I have to pick up my little brother at the church. I promise him I won’t abandon him!” Kaiyo yelled as she got up walking toward the door but Hyun Joong pulled her back and pin her against the wall. They stood staring at each other for a few minutes as Hyun Joong glance away.

“Let me change the bandage and I’ll see what I can do” Hyun Joong said as Kaiyo walked behind him.

She sat on the bed as he unwrap her wound. Placing medicine on it as he slowly wraps a new bandage on her wound. She stares at him. His touch is cold as ice as his eyes focus on her wound. For some reason the first time she met him, his eyes was cold but right now she felt warm. When he was done he looked up at her as their eyes lock again.

This time he slowly lean toward her but stop, their lips were just inches away from each other. She could feel the warmth of his breath brushing the top of her lip. She stared back into his hardened brown eyes. She then slowly move back,

“I’m sorry, I should get going” Kaiyo said getting off the bed but Hyun Joong grab her arm and turn her around as she face him again. Their lips were inches away as she stares into his warm eyes and he moved toward the last half inch so their lips could touch.

    Softly and lovingly.

That kiss; hard, but soft; fiery but cool; a split second but also forever. It felt like a romantic wave rushing to his heart as she found herself wrapped up in him, body, heart and soul. Never have she felt like this for a while.

The kiss last for about 3 minutes as Hyun Joong broke away.

“I’m sorry that should not have happen” he mumbles as he walked out the door leaving Kaiyo standing there confused.

He leans against the door hoping what just happen didn’t happen.

“God why are you so stupid” he mumbles as he put on his jacket and left the area.

“Now that was weird and awkward. Why did you have to kiss him back…” Kaiyo mumble as she slam her face into the pillow and scream hoping everything was a dream

Chou stomps all the way back to the office as people around her stare at her.

“WHAT ARE YOU ALL STARING AT?!” she yelled at the people and made her way to her seat. She slams her purse into the drawer and slams it shut on purpose to annoy somebody.

Yesung walked out from his office holding a file reading and walked pass her desk. He stops and turns back around and stops in front of Chou’s desk,

    “Oh you’re back good”

“You called and disturb my lunch time”

“You were eating with your cousin”

“How would you know I was eating with my cousin, it could have been with a guy not my cousin” Chou said rolling her eyes.

“But it was your cousin right?”

“Why should I tell you, so what’s so important you called me back for?” Chou asked.

“I need you to type this up for me and sent it to ever manager in every department for me” Yesung said handing her a file.

“What? You called me back just to type a report?!?” Chou yelled.

“Uh…you are my secretary…that’s what the job description says…you type my report” Yesung said as Chou glare at him and sat back down.

She then noticed an white envelope on her desk as she open and read it,

“WHO THE HELL GAVE ME A WARNING LETTER?!?” Chou yelled as Yesung startled back.

“Don’t look at me, I never give out warning letters” Yesung said as Chou glare around the room.

    “I did”

Both of them turn toward the voice at the entrance,

“I should have guessed it was you” Chou mumbled.

“Why did you give her a warning letter?” Yesung asked staring at Sunny angry.

“Because she didn’t do what I asked her. I told her to make a reservation for me at this place and I have to call and make it myself and I end up not going there to eat because they were overbooked!” Sunny yelled.

“That doesn’t mean you used my name to give her a warning letter! This is your personal business; you do not command my people to do your work!” Yesung yelled.

“Why are you yelling at me? And worst off it’s because of her?!” Sunny yelled as she begins to cry.

“You don’t need to put up a pity act. You’re at fault. You gave my worker a warning letter without my knowledge. If you do it again, I will make sure you won’t show up here, ever again” Yesung said as he grab the warning letter from Chou and rip it up throwing it in the trash can”

    “Yesung…”

“Go home Sunny, I do not want to see you” Yesung said as he looked away as Sunny ran off crying.

“You know, I can take the letter you don’t need to argue with her in front of this much people” Chou said as Yesung let out a sigh of relief.

“I was meaning to do that sooner or later. She has been out of hand lately so don’t worry. I will be sure that warning letter is off your record” Yesung said as he walked off.

“Maybe I’m a bit too harsh on him…” Chou whispered as she watches him walk into the elevator

Riyo looked over to Jin who was busy driving and talking on his Bluetooth. She smiled as she stares at his serious look while talking on the phone. Her eyes then look toward his hand that was bandage up. She really wanted to ask him what happen but decided not to. She looked out the window at the night sky, her head against the window as images of Jungmin flashes in her mind.

His expression when he saw her. The expression was mixed with happiness and pain as he looked at her. She reaches up to her chest as she felt her heart in pain.

“Did I do the right thing by denying him?” she asked herself as she felt a warm hand on top of her left hand. She looked over and noticed Jin looking at her with a smile. She smiled back but for some reason she still feels that pain stinging her heart. She closes her eyes hoping the pain would just go away. Closing her eyes, her mind slowly shut itself down as she fell asleep.

Chou walked out from a restaurant as she looks at her watch, tonight was a lonely dinner. Ryo was busy at the office so he couldn’t pick her up, Riyo didn’t answer her phone, Kaiyo was out of town, Hong Ki had to stay back to practice baking and making coffee, so she ended up eating alone in a restraint.

“Well its getting late, I should head home now…” she said to herself as she begins to walk home. Suddenly her cellphone rang. She looks at the number and picked it up,

    “Hello?”

    “…”

    “Yesung is that you?”

    “Hello?”

“Who are you” Chou asked not recognizing the voice over the phone.

“Mr. Kim is drunk, his driver left.”

“Why don’t you call his fiancée to pick him up then” Chou said in a sarcastic tone.

“I asked him but he said he doesn’t want to see her and told me to call you instead.” The voice said as Chou mumble to herself.

    “Which bar is he at?”

After the voice told her the address, she walks out toward the main street to find a taxi. Once she got into the car, the taxi took off. A few minutes later, she arrives at the bar. She walks inside where it was filled with loud music, people drinking and smoking. She then walks toward the bar,

    “Excuse me!”

    “Yes?”

“I’m here to pick up Mr. Yesung, where is he?” Chou asked as the bartender pointed toward a figure lying on the counter.

“Thank you” she said as she walks over to Yesung. “Yesung?” she calls his name but got no replied. “Kim Yesung!” she said seriously as she shook him.

“He’s not going to answer. He drank over 15 shots.”

“15?!? Is he that crazy?!?” Chou yelled as the bartender shrug.

“He seems really depress about something. Anyways I’m going to put the drink money on his tab, just tell him that” the bartender said as Chou nodded. She then helped Yesung stand up as he lean close to her.

“My god you don’t look that heavy...you seriously need to watch your weight” Chou mumble as she struggle to hold him up while walking out the door.

She helped him walk, Yesung begin to make funny noises.

“Ahh don’t puke on me!” she screamed as he push her away running toward a tree, barfing. A few minutes later he sat on the ground as she walks beside him,

    “Are you okay?”

“I’m…fine” he said trying to make out what he was saying.

“Are you sure? Where do you live so I can take you home” Chou asked but Yesung mumble on. “Yesung?”

“Yes?” He said with a smile.

“Where do you live?” she asked.

“I don’t know...I live in a biggggggggggggg house” Yesung said with a smile.

“I know that but where?” Chou asked annoyed.

“I don’t know…I don’t want to go home…its annoying there. Mom…dad…and that bitch too” Yesung said as Chou realizes his express turn moody.

    “What happen?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.” Yesung mumble.

“Fine, I’ll take you to a hotel then okay? Let’s get up” Chou said as she helped Yesung stand up.

    They walked toward a bench,

“Okay you’re too heavy let’s take a break” Chou said helping Yesung sit down as she sat down next to him.

She looked at her phone thinking should she call somebody but realized nobody was home. She begins to play games on her phone when she noticed Yesung sleeping. She stares at him for a while and look up toward the starry sky. Suddenly she felt something heavy on her shoulder. She looks over to find Yesung’s head on it. He then begin to mumble something, she leans closer to hear what he was saying,

“I don’t want to marry Sunny. I really hate her…I hate this arrange marriage…I hate everybody. I like somebody…I don’t love Sunny at all”

“Who do you really like?” Chou asked.

“I don’t love Sunny at all…I think I’m falling in love with my secretary”

“Secretary…wait that’s me?” Chou said as her eyes open wide.

“I think I’m falling in love with Chou…yes…”Yesung mumble as he passed out on her shoulder.

“He’s falling in love with me? Wait…that’s impossible…we barely met. How can he love me when he barely knows me?” Chou questioned but she noticed Yesung sleeping peacefully on her shoulder.

“That can’t be it…can it? My god this is confusing” Chou mumble as she lean back on the bench chair and closed her eyes.

A few hours later Riyo open her eyes and noticed the car stopped. She looked over at the driver seat but Jin was fast asleep. She looks at him staring at every detail on his face. She slowly reaches over caressing his cheeks softly. She got out of the passenger side and walked toward the rail.

It was 6:00am the sun was slowly rising as she looks at the sky. She then remember she has been here before, the same time and place

    [Flashback]

“Are you sure the sun is going to rise at this time? You said 6:00 and its 6:10”

“Yes…well I forgot when the forecast mention when the sun is rising but I’m sure its going to rise soon” Jungmin replied as he handed her a cup of hot coffee.

“I could have been in my bed sleeping by now but instead I’m sitting up here with you waiting for the sun to rise. I can watch the sun rise from my bed.” She complained as Jungmin just smiled.

“It feels more special watching it up close with somebody special” Jungmin said as she looked away trying to hide the smile.

She then looks toward the sky as the sun slowly rises. She awe at its present as the night dark sky became a beautiful scenery in front of her eyes.

“Beautiful right?” Jungmin asked as she nodded.

Jungmin then got in front of her as he look straight into her eyes placing both his arms onto her shoulder pulling her closer as their face where inches away from each other.

“I promise you, every year I will take you out here and spend this special moment with you for the rest of my life”

    “…”

Jungmin then left her standing her confused at what he just said as he left to his car trunk. A few minutes later he appeared with a bouquet of roses with a big smile on his face. He handed her the flowers as she looked at it and then at him.

He slowly reaches into his pocket and pulled out a pink velvet box. She looks at him and the box. He bends down on one knee as he open the box revealing an engagement ring inside,

“Riyo, ever since I met you, you changed my whole life. I never understand what the true meaning of love until I met you. You gave me that one thing that has been missing in my heart this whole time. Everyday without seeing you, my mind and heart just misses you like crazy. I know for a fact, without in my life, I probably won’t even know what to do with it. So I decided, I want to wake up every morning and have you by my side forever… Riyo will you marry me?” Jungmin asked as her eyes began to blur due to the tears that was whelming inside.

She didn’t know what to say as she look at him and recite every word he just said to her in her head. Her voice was gone as she tries to speak up, instead she nods her head yes as Jungmin got up and picked her up off the ground and swung her around hugging her tightly.

“I love you” he whispered into her ears. She closes her eyes she as hug him back tightly. She knows this is what she was waiting for all her life.

    [end of flashback]

The short flashback was shortened when she heard a door slam shut as she look over to see Jin awake.

“Hey, sorry about passing out like that” Riyo said as Jin ruffle his messy hair.

“Its fine, I was also too tired to drive anyways so I stop here. Been a while I seen the sun rise and I miss seeing it so I drove up here” Jin said as Riyo looked toward the bright sky that the sun lit up.

    “It’s beautiful”

“Yeah anyways, we should head home now. I have a meeting in a few hours.” Jin said as Riyo nodded as she head toward the car, Jin hug her from behind tightly.

“Thank you for being here when I needed you. I love you”

Riyo lost in her words just stood there silently as Jin gave her a kiss on the cheek as he let go of her and went to the driver’s side.

“He said I love you to me…how come my heart doesn’t feel a thing when he said it but when Jungmin said it…I felt…different?” she whispered to herself as she look at Jin who was trying to fix his hair.

She shook her head as she got into the car. Jin turns on the engine and drove off as one hand holding onto the wheel, the other onto her hand.

All she could do is look at him and smile.

Hong Ki was walking down the street as he looks around. Mornings are sure busy. People walk to work, students running to school, people opening up their business. He took out his ipod as he stuck in the earphone. He begins to walk as he stare into his ipod trying to figure out what song he should he listen to.

He begins to walk without paying attention to where he was going. He was walking into the middle of the street while a car from distance was speeding toward. He heard loud honking as he looked up and noticed a car heading toward him. Suddenly somebody pulled him back from behind as he stumble backward.

He looks at the person, who saved his life,

“Oh its you” Hong Ki said as he look at Lillian.

“Did you learn manners when you were in school? I just save your ass from getting hit by that car” Lillian fussed as Hong Ki pulled off the earphone from his ears.

“I didn’t ask you to save me” Hong Ki said as he ignore her putting back the earphone and blast the music loudly as Lillian stare at him as she stuck her tongue at him. Standing next to him at the light she glare at the person next to her as he noticed from the corner of his eyes her glaring at him but chose to ignore her.

They both begin to walk across the street and walk into the market. They both grab onto the same cart as they tried to push each other out of the way. Lillian then stomps on Hong Ki’s foot as she pushes the cart away happily as Hong Ki held onto his foot in pain. A few minutes later, Lillian was at the vegetables/fruit section and Hong Ki arrived as they glare at each other. He walked over to the orange section choosing oranges placing them in a bag. Lillian stood a few feet away from him as they begin grabbing oranges and then both reach out for the same one.

“Let go!” Hong Ki yelled pulling the orange

“I saw it first!” Lillian yelled

“Well I reach for it first!”

Both pull it back and forth, but due to Hong Ki’s strength, he succeeds in pulling the orange to his side and out of Lillian’s grip.

“Looks like I win this round” Hong Ki said with a smirk waving the orange in front of Lillian’s face.

“Whatever you jerk” Lillian mumbled as she turns around and begins walking away fast and didn’t notice a puddle of water on the floor. As she walks straight into the puddle, she slip and fell backward.

Hong Ki seeing this ran and tried to grab her but instead slip on the puddle of water and landed on the floor first as Lillian landed on top of him hard.

“My god get off of me you’re heavy!” Hong Ki yelled.

“Shut up I’m not heavy and I’m trying to get up” she yelled.

When she finally got up but slips again landed hard on Hong Ki but this time her elbow landed hard on his stomach causing him to scream in pain.

About 20 minutes later an ambulance came taking both of them away. At the hospital Lillian looked at the clock and it has been at least 5 minutes they arrived at the hospital. She walks back and forth hoping he was okay.

“Miss, you need to sit down, you twisted your ankle and need to rest not walking up and down like that” the nurse said to Lillian but she ignored her. Finally the doctor came out as she ran toward him,

    “How is he?”

“Well part of his leg bone got fracture a bit but not that badly. We will put him in a cast for at least 3-6 weeks hoping it will heal. Also he dislocated his shoulder so he will be in cast for that too. Since he’s a grown man it will take a while. We will put him on some pain medicine to ease the pain a bit but other than that, your friend is fine. We transfer him up to the patient room. We will be keeping over night to let him get some rest and to check on him to see if he’s doing okay”

“Thank you sooo much” Lillian said as she hops off to the patient’s room. There she saw Hong Ki tried to reach for a glass of water in front of him as she helped him.

    “Here”

“Wow, that’s such a great apology” Hong Ki said sarcastically as he snatched the glass away from her.

“I’m sorry for being stubborn and landed on you causing you to be in the hospital” Lillian said as Hong Ki gave a big victory smile.

“Also for elbowing me in the stomach” Hong Ki said adding on.

“Fine I’m sorry. Beside it wasn’t totally all my fault. The market should have clean up the puddle” Lillian said sitting down.

“Maybe we should sue them.” Hong Ki said as a man walked in.

“Are you the two that slip in the market?” the man asked.

    “Uh…yes and you are?”

“I’m the manager from the market and I want to apologize for our clumsiness.” He said bowing.

“Maybe we shouldn’t” Lillian said as she felt bad for the man still bowing.

“Fine but we need to make a deal here. I’m in the hospital and cannot work nor can she” Hong Ki said as the man handed them a bag.

“This is on behalf of our store also we will cover your medical fee and we will deliver you both something.”

    “Deliver what?” Lillian asked.

“You will see soon” he said.

“We won’t sue you so don’t worry” Hong Ki said as the man shook both of their hands and left happily. “So what’s in the bag?”

“Oranges” Lillian said holding one up.

“I’m hungry go wash them and peel them for me” Hong Ki command.

“What? I’m injured here!” Lillian yelled.

“Well I’m injured worst than you. I’m not only in a leg cast but also in a arm cast and cannot move” Hong Ki said pointing to his leg and his arm.

“Fine” Lillian mumbled as she hops off with one leg to go wash the oranges and came back. “Here!” she said handing Hong Ki an orange.

“Uh hello, broken arm” Hong Ki reminded her as she snatch the orange back and begins to peel it while Hong Ki stare at her. A few minutes later she handed him something that doesn’t look like an orange. “What is this?” he asked holding a mush orange.

    “An orange”

“Well it doesn’t look like one” Hong Ki said.

“Hey I tried my best already” she said as Hong Ki took a bite from it.

“Well practice” Hong Ki said as Ryo rush into the room.

    “Are you okay?!” Ryo asked.

“Do I look okay?” Hong Ki asked as Lillian got up,

“Looks like you have somebody to talk to, here is the other orange so eat up and bye” Lillian said hopping off.

“Why are you with her? And what the crap is that orange looking thing on the plate?” Ryo asked.

“I was with her because we were at the market, she slip and I tried to catch her but failed and well ended up like this and that is an orange, an edible orange” Hong Ki said.

“Well that is one ugly looking peel orange” Ryo said as Hong Ki look at it.

“Nah it isn’t ugly, it looks like how my mom used to peel it.” Hong Ki said with a warm smile eating it.

“You’re mom peels like that? Weird…and stop smiling like that you’re creeping me out!” Ryo said as he smacks Hong Ki in the face with a pillow he glared at him. “So when can you go home?” Ryo asked.

“Don’t know the doctor said I have to stay over night I guess I can go home tomorrow” Hong Ki said, “and why are you flipping through the phone?”

“Because I cannot get in contact with Kaiyo at all” Ryo said as he hit the dial button but the phone keeps on ringing.

“Maybe she’s just busy” Hong Ki said with a shrug.

“Even if she’s busy, she would reply” Ryo said, “I have a feeling she’s in trouble” Ryo mumbled.

    -------------------------

Hyun Joong walks into the dark room placing a plate of food on the table and walked over to Kaiyo who was sleeping peacefully. He noticed her cheeks were red as he places his hand on her forehead.

“Damn, she’s running a fever” he mumbled as he walks out of the room later returning with a glass of water and some medicine. Kaiyo open her eyes and noticed Hyun Joong stand over her bed. He sat down and helps her sit up handing her some medicine and the glass of water. “Go back to sleep, you will be fine tomorrow” he said as she nods her head and lay back down. He pulled up the blanket as he watches her close her eyes.

He walks out of the room closing the door, he look at her as his cell phone rang,

    “Hello?”

    “How’s everything?” the man asked.

“According to plan, when will you be back?”

“Soon, I have to handle some things”

“I see…well I see you then” Hyun Joong said as he turns off his phone. Suddenly he heard Kaiyo screaming as he rushes in. He pulled out his gun and took a look around the room and notice nothing was wrong. He walked over to the bed and saw Kaiyo’s expression as if she was in pain. He sat down as he felt her forehead,

“Her fever seems to be gone…”

She then begin to mumble something as he lean forward to listen to it,

    “Please no…get away…”

He looks at her as her hands begin to move as if she’s trying to fight somebody off. He reaches out and grabs both of her hand. He held onto it as she begins to calm down.

“Don’t worry, I’m right here” he whispered as she stops mumbling. He brushes her hair back as he held onto her hands. “I’m sorry” he kiss her hands as his grip tighten.

    “I’m so sorry”

    ----------

As Riyo wave goodbye to Jin she walks into the house and notice nobody was home. She found a stack of mail on the table as she went through it,

“Bill, bill, bill…magazines, bills…hey something for me” she said as she walk toward the couch and open it up.

There she saw a white piece of printing paper that was folded and slowly open it, her eyes bulge out as she stare what was in front of her. Her hands tremble as it slips falling onto the ground as she fell backward on the couch.

“Why are those pictures here…who did this…” she mumbled
