Chapter 01:

[Annoucer: Flight 9205 is about to land please buckle your seatbelt.]

He took one glance out the window toward the city below. He’s finally coming back to his home after leaving it for 15 years. He begins to wonders if anything changed ever since he left. He fastens his seat beat and dig into his shirt pocket pulling out a photo. He looked at it and smile. Finally after 15 years he can come back for her. Ever since his departure he lost contact with them. His fingers ran over the photo and placing it back into his shirt pocket.

[Announcer: Flight 9205 from Hong Kong, China to Tokyo, Japan has arrived. Please proceed to the luggage department to claim your baggage. Thank you for flying with Continental service.]

He walked out the tunnel into the airport notice people running toward their family and friends who welcome them home but nobody was there for him. He took a glance at his watch as he noticed from distance a young man ran toward him and stops.

“Gomen for being so late! The boss didn’t let me leave until all the reports were in and I couldn’t find a spot to park” the young man said trying to gasp air into his lung.

“You must be Koyama Keiichiro?” he asked looking at the young guy who was shorter than him.

“Yes and you are Akanishi Jin our new inspector that got transfer from America.” Keiichiro said as he shook Jin’s hand. “The boss asked me to show you where you will be living and give you a tour around the city before getting into work”

“Sure” Jin said as he picks up his luggage following Keiichiro, “ah before we go can we stop and get some coffee, I didn’t have my daily dose yet” Jin said.

“Ah no problem, I know this great place.” Keiichiro said leading Jin toward the exit of the airport toward his car.

High heel can be heard from distance as it taps against the cold marble floor. The hallway was dark as usually with a few lights flickering above her head. She stops in front of a metal door where 2 men in dark green stood in guarding the front door. She open her purse and grab two envelop that was thick and handed it to each of the guard. They open it and look inside and grin widely.

One took out the key and unlocks the door for her as she walks in as they close it. She took a few steps into a room which is filled with more light compare to the hallway. The room itself looks like a living room but it was split in half by a large clear window, separating whatever is behind the other side from the world.

A figure was sitting on the spinning stool but its back was facing her. She took a few steps toward the chair when the figure spoke up,

“It has been approximately a week and 2 days, 3 hours and 45 minutes we talk.” He said spinning around facing her.

“Gah oniichan don’t have to nag me about being late. I’m here aren’t I?” she said with a smiled as she sat in the wooden chair as the figure lower his stool and smile.

“It’s not nagging but helping you keep up with your time. Up till now you can never get to a place on time, worst forget it.” He said with a smile as she made a face at him.

“Let’s forget about that and talk about something else” she said trying to change the subject as she dig into her purse as she took out some items placing it on the table. “I got these for you so you won’t be bored”

“Ah more sudoku to solve, books and manga to read…do you know I can make a large profit with these stuff if I sell all of it” he said as she shrugged.

“It helps relax your mind and help you think” she said cheerfully.

“So how was your mission?” he asked changing his tone.

“What do you think? I learn from the best” she said giving him a thumb up.

“How long did it take you to finish it this time?” he asked as he begins to draw in the air.

“About…5 days at least.” She guessed as he spins in his chair.

“Not bad, you’re improving fast Riyo.” He said as he stops spinning facing her again.

“Chou and Kaiyo helped me so you don’t have to worry” she said with a smile.

“How are they doing? Is Chou still getting into trouble herself?”

“When did you not know a day she does not get herself into trouble? If she doesn’t get into trouble a day it will drive her crazy. She always ends up causing trouble and get involve somehow…” Riyo said trying to figure out what she just said.

“How about Kaiyo?”

“Still the same, business is going well.” Riyo replied.

“Have you seen the others lately?”

“Not really, after what happen they sort of disappear but for some reason I think I seen Takky-kun around Kaiyo place but he didn’t come in.”

“He’s still the same, never change a bit.”

“Eh?”

“Nothing, so is there a new mission coming up soon?”

“Yep. I’m thinking of targeting this person” Riyo said holding up the newspaper against the glass as he read it.”

“This should be an easy mission. By the way he looks; the mission won’t be no more than 3 days.” He said looking at his fingers.

“I guess. Ah it’s getting late; I have to get started on the plan. If I need help I will be back” she said getting up as she put the stuff back into the bag. “I’ll hand this stuff to the guards so they give it to you later” she said walking toward the door and walk back.

“Remember to be careful” he said standing up placing his hand against the glass.

“I will.” she said placing her hand where his hand is at. She looks at both their hands, separated by a thick glass and look up seeing him smile at her as she smile back at him.

She then walk out the door and handed the brown bag to the guard, “Thank you”

“It’s our pleasure to help” the guards said as Riyo took a deep breathe and walk down the hall.

An hour later she walked into a café and sat near the window staring out in the street.

“Just got back from visiting?” a young woman asked placing a cup of latte in front of Riyo.

“Yeah, he asked how you and Chou were doing.” Riyo replied taking a slip from her cup.

“Well Chou is now missing. I believe she’s out there getting herself into trouble as we speak.”

“Can you bring me a slice of that cheesecake? I need my sugar to think ^_^”

“Fine, but this is going on your bill at the end of the month”

“Yeah, yeah whatever” Riyo said pushing the woman away as she pulled out her laptop.

A few minutes later, Keiichiro and Jin walked into the café shop.

“Konnichi wa” the woman talking to Riyo earlier said as two of them walk into the shop.

“Hey Kaiyo, how are you doing?” Keiichiro asked as Kaiyo look at him while cutting the cake.

“Doing fine as always” she replied in a cold tone.

Jin look at his subordinate and the owner of the café, “can I have a medium cup of latte to go with addition of one-shot” Jin asked as she turn around to the coffee machine.

“I just want regular medium coffee” Keiichiro added.

Kaiyo appeared in front of them two cups to go as she hit the keys on the cash register, “the total is 5.60” as Keiichiro handed her the money. “Thank you, come again” she said with a smile and walk away with a plate of chocolate cake.

“She’s not into you so just give up.” Jin said taking the cup of latte and look at Keiichiro who snap back to reality,

“I don’t have a crush on her.” He denied.

“I live in the States for quite a while and I can recognize things you can’t. She’s not into you, more like she dislikes you.” Jin said with a smirk.

“Whatever, we have to get going to cover some places before you get lost” Keiichiro said leaving the place with Jin behind him.

Kaiyo place the cheesecake in front of Riyo who was trying not to laugh behind her laptop monitor.

“Yah, why are you laughing for no reason?”

“There is a reason and that reason is how you treated that poor guy. I mean come on the only negative thing about him is that he’s shorter than you a bit but he’s nice!” Riyo said sticking a fork into her cake and ate it. “Gah cheesecake my favorite!”

“He may be nice but he’s a cop and I hate cops.” Kaiyo said glaring at Riyo who was enjoying her cake.

“Yeah, yeah I understand, don’t need to give me a speech on it.” Riyo said putting up her hands up to surrender.

“Whatever, aren’t you suppose to be focusing on your next case instead of me.” Kaiyo asked looking at the folder in front of her.

“Yeah I am, doing research first before doing anything else,” Riyo said going back typing on her laptop.

“If you need anything, just ask” Kaiyo said as Riyo nodded her head. She picks up her cup and looks out the window and notice Keiichiro and Jin outside talking pointing to different buildings.

Keiichiro suddenly stops and walks away picking up his cellphone. Jin leaning against the car took a glance around the area. This place differently changed since his childhood, more buildings and people walking around. His eyes begins to wander off but apparently it stop in front of a window at the café shop he was at a while ago. Her eyes met his as both just stare at each other. For some reason her eyes reminded him of her but at the same time it felt as if another person was in there. She looked away and begins talking to the owner of the shop. His conscience is telling him walk in and ask her but at the same time his heart knows she was not the person he was waiting for… or is it?

His thoughts were interrupted as Keiichiro returns mumbling under his breathe, “I have to make a quick stop at the station if you don’t mind. The boss is being a really pain in the butt”

“No problem, beside I have to meet him sooner or later” Jin said going over to the passenger side of the car. Before getting inside the car he took a glance at that girl before leaving but she didn’t glance over to look at him. He let out a sigh and got into the car as Keiichiro drove off.

Riyo then glance out the window and notice the car was gone. “Yah are you even listening to me?” Kaiyo asked tapping the table as Riyo turn her attention back to Kaiyo.

“Yeah I get it.”

“Get what?”

“Whatever you were saying…” Riyo answer with thumbs up.

“Really? Then repeat it.”

“Oh look you have a few customers in line, you should go deal with it” Riyo said pointing toward the front.

“You’re lucky this time but next time I’m gonna smack you.” Kaiyo said leaving the table as Riyo let out a sigh and look out the window again.

“That eyes…where have I seen it before?” she mumbled as she focus back at her laptop

The wind was blowing lighting against her cheeks as she in front of a large ocean. She took in a deep breathe of fresh air and let it out. She looks around her as people walk by talking on their phones, or friends.

Then a person caught her eye.

He was dress in business attire and was on the phone while looking at the ocean view.

She let out a sigh a loud cry,

“WHY? GOD WHY ME?!?!”

The man look toward her as he noticed her body was leaning toward the ocean below her.

He drops his phone and rush toward her hoping to grab her in time but it was too late.

She was falling toward the deep, dark water below her; he had no choice but to jump in after her hoping to save her.

Her eyes close as she knows her life is ending, very quickly
